LAVISKA SHENAULT IS A BAD BAD BAD MAN

  • LAVISKA SHENAULTWR, COLORADO BUFFALOES

Colorado junior WR Laviska Shenault said he plans on running the 40-yard dash in the 4.3s or 4.4s.
Shenault (6'2/224) sat down with NFL Media's Daniel Jeremiah and Bucky Brooks to chat about his future in the NFL. The first-round prospect mentioned he plans on growing his route tree in 2019 and believes he'll impress at the Combine, which is what everyone expects. Shenault said he crafts his game after Julio Jones, Larry Fitzgerald, and even Antonio Brown, despite major differences in size and style of play. If Shenault's foot can hold up, he'll be one of the most productive players in the country before heading into the 2020 NFL Draft.

Mel Tucker: Laviska Shenault may be punt returner.

I love Darian Hagan, but the thought of having REGGIE ****ING BUSH as a RB coach gets my blood rushing.
Nah. Hard to see that for me. Frankly, if the young RBs do well then I don't know why anyone would be negative on DH. Speedy, Lindsay, McMilliam and then if Mangham is a star... that would be a heck of a track record.

I would like to see him more active in CA building pipelines, though. We need to be better in Los Angeles and DH needs to be driving that with the current staff configuration. In a recruiting year when he's not expected to bring in much (or anything) in his position group, he needs to set the table for others.

If the Broncos suck enough to where they don't have to give up half their draft for Viska, they've gotta do it.

I am usually against taking WR in the first round, but Viska could be an exception. He is a very rare kind of receiver that I can't really think of a good comp for. I've seen Sammy Watkins used, and maybe that is the best one out there, but I'd like to think Viska will be able to stay healthier in the league and produce more than Watkins has to this point.

I mean, the common comp is Julio Jones. Julio was drafted at 6'3 and 220#. He ran a 4.39 40 at the combine

Viska is listed at 6'2 and 220#. He ran a 4.59 40 in HS, but I know he has increased his speed and is routinely regarded as one of our fastest WR which would put him the 4.3-4.4 range now. Julio has always been a very physical receiver, but I think Viska is even more so.

Julio was the first comp that came to mind, but didn't want people attacking me comparing him to an eventual HOF WR...

But yes, I think Viska is a more physical WR than Julio.

That is a fair point, however I believe Viska has the potential to be every bit as good as JJ, and yes I mean eventual NFL HOF. The key is obviously going to be consistency and longevity. Julio is going to go the HOF because he is a machine. You can basically count on him for 1400yds and 7TD's year in and year out. The only "down" year he has had was 2013, when he played only 5 games.

Wouldn't hurt to go to a team that has a decent QB either. Julio has had the benefit of working with Matt Ryan his whole career. If Viska ended up somewhere like Philly, Dallas, KC (sorry), Seattle, etc. the chances of him putting up HUGE numbers goes way up.

viska is way better than julio jones. much more physical, better upper body strength, better with the ball in his hands, better in traffic.

and viska's tears cure cancer.

when he wins the heisman, gets drafted first, and becomes an all pro and rookieof the year on his way to HOF NFL career, don't say i didn't tell you so.

The 2030 Shenault Institute for Sports Performance at CU is going to be epic.

I think they still need more caffeine on offense, and Viska is the kind of kid who can bring that.

If Viska ends up in KC this board will hold you responsible and will be obligated to hunt you down and KC sticker you and everything you own. What a fricking nightmare that would be WTF damn between you and NYCBuff wanting him in NY. Seriously though with Viska's personality seems like a city like Denver or KC either texas team would be comfortable fits. If KD makes it to the NFL he's made for LA

I hope Viska ends up with a coach that is creative enough to get the most out of him. He’d be a mismatch nightmare lining up at H-back or Fullback, but most teams are going to be lazy and stick him in the slot

You want to see one of the best WRs in the country to be drafted to play H Back or Fullback?? Lol Viska is a true #1 WR who will project as a future top 5-10 WR

Not exclusively of course, but I’m telling you if he goes to KC, Andy Reid will use him like this and it will be impossible to stop.

He’d be a very good outside receiver, but he would be an elite offensive weapon if his versatility is used

6. Laviska Shenault Jr., WR, Colorado: Even with health issues, Shenault still led the Pac-12 with 86 catches last year in only nine games. He caught nine or more passes in seven of those games and averaged 112.3 YPG and more than 11 yards per catch on the season. Shenault, who is fully healthy now, ranked fourth nationally last year with 3.7 yards per route run and was second nationally with 125.1 scrimmage YPG. He also had 52.3% of his receptions go for either a first down or a touchdown.

So I forgot this detail about him from last year.
Add a year of strength, speed and maturity.
Add Montez an advanced year, heightened ability
Add coaching staff tuned into how to make this all work.

This should be fun to see!
Health to LS

I can't wait to watch this kid. Going to be a monster and will continue to give the University a good name when he is a prominent pro.
