Surprised nobody has created a Ruhle thread.
I'm on my phone so not uploading profile.
Basically he built Temple into a double digit season winner and then brought Baylor from their rock bottom to prominence in under three years.

This to me is my #1 choice.
I just read more about Ruhle. If he could turn around Temple and Baylor, maybe he could turn around our Buffs. I dont know if we will have the $$ to be in the ballpark for him?

That's my fear.
When said and done I would not be surprised if he gets 7-10 million.
Nebraska would be the school to load up a dump truck of cash like MSU did for Midnight Mel. That's something CU won't do.

Calling it now - Rhule to the Nubs.
At a national conference. Coworker is a medium-level nub booster. With a straight face, he says that Mickey Joseph is the man if he gets another 1-2 wins. Colleague says that Trev Alberts is trying to instill a more blue collar work ethic. I think he’s nuts TBH. 1) bugeaters don’t have much shot to win more than 1 more game. 2) they have a massive war chest and they’ll use it on Mickey freakin’ Joseph?! legit LOL

I live in Nebraska and have heard a lot of the same thing. So many of them even have the caveat of the new coach hire is if they keep Mickey or have ties to Mickey. They’re hell bent on keeping him in some capacity it seems. I’ve seen Vance as head coach and Mickey staying in his previous role. Nothing would make me happier!

Oh crap. Am I going to have to actually root for a couple more wins for the Corn?

No surprise, they hired Alberts because they want to live in the 90s.
Frosty wasn't close to enough to convince them that that era is past

Kenan Thompson Reaction GIF

I just think that Joseph as NU's HC would be comical.
They are if Mickey Joseph is seriously being considered. All seriousness, I think the point is that we should root for Nebraska to win a few more and hire Joseph full time, because that would be hilarious and good for CU the next couple seasons when they play
i think Mickey is the only non big name they’re considering. I think a lot of it is that they’re still in the “nubs 4 lyfe” is good mode.

I hope that happens, I doubt it though. I'd guess they'll throw 💰 at a big name.

The Panthers are effectively paying for his next head coaching job, so the money doesn't really matter. For the initial contract at least. He might be open to coming here. It's a job where he can build a program on his own terms instead of being pressured to win right away, and use it as a stepping stone to a bigger job once the Panthers pay him what he's owed.

Of course that assumes that he wants to coach again right away. He'll probably take a cushy TV job for a year and then get the itch again

Just an FYI I know someone who knows someone, Matt will only come back for a few jobs that are pretty much already ready to compete for NC’s… two I know of are OU and maybe Penn State. He is not interested in any open jobs right now

You don't think he'd answer a call from Wisconsin? That's a pretty good gig.....if Jim Leonhard flops.

i do not understand the infatuation with rhule but i guess he must be something with all the buzz.

dude won at baylor. that's like snyder winning at kjuco state before the rules were altered.

I see him as a turnaround guy and get that he'd want something that's a bigger job with higher upside than Baylor. But I agree the resume isn't a Stoops, Meyer or Petersen.

I think he would kill it at a school like West Virginia.

Great call. With the Temple/Baylor background he'd be able to recruit well in TX & PA with a good rep in NJ & MD. That covers a lot of where WVU needs to get talent other than VA & FL.

Maybe it’s just a polite way of him saying that he wouldn’t be interested in a program that doesn’t take football seriously. It’s pretty clear that CU hasn’t put the football program front and center.

Someone will buy the dream if he’s available. Honestly, I can imagine Auburn going after him if they can’t get Kiffin or Gundy.

He's my first choice...but with Dr. Phil and RG in charge I give us a less than zero chance of landing him...
