Those recruiting connections are powerful. That said I'd put the odds very low that he actually ends up playing for Kansas. Only way I see the commit sticking is if he has some kind of strong tie to Kansas like having lived there or having good friends or relatives at the school.

Bad news is that he isn't coming here either.
 
I had a high school friend that KU bought a Trans Am to play football. 30 years ago, but they may be trying to step up again.
