CSM is a place where CU has had a great relationship. Current corner Mekhi Blackmon went there, for example. We also have a CSM commit from Alton Julian at CB in the 2020 class.

Biggest competition right now is from Oregon, where Williams camped last week and impressed. No offer yet and they do have 10 safeties on their roster with little room. https://247sports.com/Article/Top-Performers-Oregons-Saturday-Night-Live-133980826/

As a freshman in 2017, Williams was a pretty unheralded recruit for Illinois. Barely a 3* prospect. He won the starting job and ended up being named a freshman All-American by ESPN. He was expected to lead the Illini defense last year, but got himself suspended for the first 3 gams for a violation of team rules as the season was getting started, hurt his hamstring in his first game back, and then decided to transfer to get a new start. https://247sports.com/college/illin...nnett-Williams-dismissed-from-team-123119275/

That's the background.

I'm very excited about this recruit. Huge upgrade to our defense if CU can sign him for 2020. I'd expect him to immediately be one of our best defensive players.

P.S. Just watch the Illinois highlights.

I wonder if he was attacked on twitter by Fusker fans for blowing up Hoppes. Love that film tho.

Williams would be a tremendous get in a huge need position. Everything is laid out for him to start at CU from day one.

I'm surprised more teams aren't hot after him. Maybe it's the weed thing. He'll probably start immediately pretty much anywhere he goes.
