Arizona State seems high...they have to replace Manny Wilkins...what am I missing?

Wilkins is hardly irreplaceable. They are extremely experienced on offense and should be fine there. Lot more questions on defense, particularly the front seven.

God it cal can get any improvement on offense this year they should be pretty good. Somehow their defense is going to be better

Right? You would think they will get better, but how much better? That defense is nasty.

Plus ASU did a lot better than most thought last year. They were picked last in the South by a lot.

Stanford is undervalued and UCLA is way overvalued.
Stanford has been on a slow decline since '15, and they start over young on a couple of their units. Their OL is dog**** until it proves otherwise.

Fair but that's what we all thought when Sefo left and had Montez waiting in the wings. Everyone thought we could be even better. Wilkins was just like Sefo. Middle of the Pac in ability but world class leadership.

I actually agree with you that they'll be fine but I think Herm is actually a big enough leader to mitigate that a bit.

True, although I think the experience of the rest of the offense softens the blow.

I think the bigger question for ASU is on defense. Mediocre in 2018 (7th in Pac-12) and faded down the stretch.

Last post on this since we agree but the more I look back the more this ASU team is similar to CU. Of the 12 listed offensive starters for CSU on the 2017 Buffs (first year post Sefo) 8 were seniors. The 4 that weren't (Montez, Lynott, Haigler, and JMac) were solid. The only 2 offensive starters that graduated were Alex Kelley and Sefo. ASU lost Harry (akin to losing Viska) and Wilkins off the top of my head.

After week 1, still mostly pre-season projection at this point, but CU is up to 59th. We have the 3rd offense, and the 123rd defense. Wow.

Crazy. If Viska hadn't lost that ball in the lights, who knows where we would be.

It's a goddamned miracle that this isn't behind their stupid ESPN Insider paywall.
