May as well get this started with CU breaking UCF and a heck of a player making a business decision.
So going forward....if your team isn't looking too hot in the first few games, expect a mass exodus in the middle of the season. Beginning the year right will become very important.May as well get this started with CU breaking UCF and a heck of a player making a business decision.
So, participate in fall camp, take reps from others, start three games, then drop trow and take a big #2 on your teammates so you can go get yours somewhere else. That is the kind of teammate I would not want.So going forward....if your team isn't looking too hot in the first few games, expect a mass exodus in the middle of the season. Also players that you are banking on playing a big roll in upcoming years but have gotten no tick to start the current season might be leaving too. Definitely adds a huge aspect of "player management" into the coaching profession.
I have to imagine even the most staunch NIL supporters don't support this crap.May as well get this started with CU breaking UCF and a heck of a player making a business decision.
I don’t think it’s about what UCF looked like against CU. They’re still 3-1 with everything in front of them this year. To me, it’s more about where they see themselves getting drafted and what that opportunity looks like. If they aren’t viewed as a day one or two draft pick, it might be better for them to preserve their last year of eligibility, get paid from NIL in the portal and hopefully boost their draft stock next year.So going forward....if your team isn't looking too hot in the first few games, expect a mass exodus in the middle of the season. Yep. I don't like the system as it currently stands, but I can't blame players who see an opportunity to earn enough to be able to buy a house as soon as they're done with college instead of living with their parents while starting the grind in an entry level job.I don’t think it’s about what UCF looked like against CU. It sucks for the team, but it’s hard to fault these guys for trying to secure at least some kind of financial future while they can. Even if they get one more year in college where they get a $300k NIL offer, that’s worth it.
Unless you’re a surefire day 1 or 2 draft pick, it is highly advisable to exhaust all college eligibility and make as much money as possible. Ironically, this new reality is actually going to help second and third tier programs compete at a high level every so often as we will see more veteran leaden teams with guys spending the full 4 or 5 years in college.Yep. We all saw how their defensive backs looked. I don’t foresee this guy having a ton of opportunity but I wish him luck.
Anquin Barnes added this announcement to his IG story I believe. Would be huge if Barnes can get him here (and if CU has the bag to compete)
Car salesman? I think you mean generous car dealership owners. That’s how you build.maybe it is possible to build rosters in the Portal. Just need a car salesman to convince kids to come to your school. HS recruiting will be piecemeal after position of needs are filled.
My opinion on the portal has settled on it being a way to fill specific holes on the roster, whether it's adding some experienced and veteran depth/competition, grabbing some high potential younger guys who still need developing, or spending a large part of NIL budget on an impact starter or two. Can't keep churning 60-70% of the roster every year and expect to compete at a high level.maybe it is possible to build rosters in the Portal. The bag won't be that big. He's lost most of his snaps because he suffered some injuries and hasn't been the same player since.Anquin Barnes added this announcement to his IG story I believe. Would be huge if Barnes can get him here (and if CU has the bag to compete)
Not sure how that’s possible when the portal isn’t open.
And it's now officially portal season! Sko!
So it's a verbal commitment to enter the portal. Not sure how that’s possible when the portal isn’t open.
JC transfer who graduates in December. Currently committed to Troy.

I've been saying pretty much since it started that the free market setup of NIL would correct itself as donors, and therefore coaches, paid for players that didn't contribute or didn't live up to expectation. This is step 1, step 2 will be contract requirements that pay with escalators based on performance (with the majority of the pay being in escalators).Softer market for depth and unproven talent this cycle?
Yeah. I think you're going to have to be very in-demand to command significant guaranteed money very soon.I've been saying pretty much since it started that the free market setup of NIL would correct itself as donors, and therefore coaches, paid for players that didn't contribute or didn't live up to expectation. Was down to 5th string. Rumor is that he has a case of the drops. Has not played since the OU game and his last reception was in the Miss State gameJohntay Cook II leaves Texas football program
