They can stay if they can recruit. If they don’t want to spend days on the road recruiting 17 and 18 year olds then no. I’m not sure these guys are hungry enough to want to do that.

Even if we have to deal with some growing pains the program would be far better off to steadily increase the number of starters who are coming in as HS recruits (of failing that transfers including from lower divisions who have at least 3 years of eligibility remaining.

Hitting the portal is a great way to fill holes in the line-up but not to build one. Having significant numbers of players who are only in the system for one or two years makes it very hard to built continuity.

The DL wasn't as good as 2024, but Sapp was a part of that DL as well and they were very good. I'm assuming Sapp carries some weight for recruiting as well.
