Colorado offensive players RB Rodney Stewart and OT Nate Solder received some good news Monday. Stewart was named Big 12 offensive player of the week for his performance against Kansas State last Saturday while Solder was named a finalist for the Outland trophy, honoring the best interior lineman in college football.

Stewart had 195 yards rushing with two scores, caught two passes for 49 yards and threw 23 yard touchdown pass to Toney Clemons. Stewart now ranks seventh in CU history in both career (2,656) and season (1,230) rushing yards, 10th in CU history in both career (3,035) and season (1,501) all-purpose yards, seventh in career yards from scrimmage (3,035) and fourth in season yards from scrimmage (1,501). Stewart ranks second in total rushing yards in the Big 12 this year behind only Kendall Hunter from Oklahoma State.

Stewart is the Buffs' third player honored this season as Big 12 player of the week.

Senior left tackle Nate Solder was named one of three finalists for the 65th Outland Trophy, given to the best interior lineman in college football

Also in the running is Wisconsin offensive tackle Gabe Carimi and Florida State offensive guard Rodney Hudson.

According to cubuffs.com, "Solder has played in all 797 snaps on offense this season for Colorado and has graded out to 92.9 percent on the season and has received marks above 90 percent in 10 of the Buffs' 11 games this season. He has compiled 127 finish or knock down blocks, 52 more than any other player, and has 10 touchdown blocks on the year. He has given up just two sacks and three quarterback pressures in the Buffs' 370 pass plays on the season."

Congratulations to both Nate Solder and Rodney Stewart.
