CU at Arizona

If CU loses at home against UCLA and this one, HCKD will be out of a job with the upcoming bye week.
Not sure how that wouldn't happen. It costs nothing extra between now and 12/31 to do it, so unless there's debate on him returning for 2023 at that point there isn't a good reason to maintain status quo. It would be time to officially start the coaching search.

I would say so but remember this is CU.

Dan Hawkins was ready to be fired and Dr. Phil stepped in and stopped it.

I'd forgotten about that somehow. Bohn had the talk with Hawkins to let him know that the Thanksgiving game 2009 would be his last. The Buffs were 3-8.

Bohn went to support the basketball team at the Maui Invitational rather than be in Boulder that final week, returning for the football game at the end of the tournament.

Hawkins met with Phil while Bohn was out of town and Phil decided that Hawkins would be given another season.

Then, allegedly, when Bohn was finally able to fire Hawkins after the collapse at Kansas, Phil was swayed by boosters & politics to mandate the next hire had to be a Buff. A hiring committee was formed. As the story goes, Bohn wasn't even present when the hiring committee interviewed Embree.

Bohn got blamed for all of that by the people who didn't know how Phil put his nose in, we are still suffering from that.

A lot of fans including many here were convinced that Bohn was totally incompetent and the reason we were bad.

All he did was go to Cincinnati and help build a program that got to the playoff then go on to USC and manage to bring in Mike Riley.

Meanwhile Dr. Phil continues to sit in his office as the CU athletic department and the university as a whole deteriorate by almost any reasonable measure.

Punching Phil in the face just seems too lenient at this point in time

Which is further proof - as if it was even necessary - that there needs to be a complete f’ing reset. This is one instance where I’m down with the cancel culture - cancel our Pres, AD, and the entire football staff. Clean the damn house, move to the B12 and inject some life into our fan base and program, and make football fun again

Up only a smidge from a 41.5% chance before the UCLA game to 43.1% now.

The big changes are the Arizona State game looking more "winnable" now at a 26.8% chance up from 15.2%, and the Cal game down to 15.6% from previously being the most "winnable" at 19.6%.

Personally, I think the only real chance at a win is B_Walk coming in to proclaim 0-12 a foregone conclusion.

So what I am hearing, Phil is to blame for Bohn's departure. If Phil stayed in his lane, Lincoln Riley would be the head coach at CU right now and we would be undefeated, with Caleb Williams tossing td's to Rice.

Where would Chev be in this scenario?

How the **** did noted offensive powerhouse Cal hang 49 on them?

Their defense is bad. Not historically bad like ours. Just normal bad. However, with our terrible offense, we'll still probably only manage to score in the teens on them.

The AZ offense, OTOH, is pretty good, especially throwing the ball. They'll put up 40+ on us like everyone else has.

Let's hope so. We don't need this staff magically starting to figure things out this close to the bye.
