Just thought this was a natural time to set up a thread to account for any future Buff news specifically related to the hard working Spirit Team, as they are (quoting the article linked to below) "at the 2020 College Cheerleading and Dance Team National Championships... in Orlando, Fla.".

In big news from those Championships, Chip became a 3 time winner of the Mascot Natty's.

Congrats to Chip!

CU's beloved mascot Chip won his third ever Mascot National Championship at the 2020 College Cheerleading and Dance Team National Championships on Saturday afternoon in Orlando, Fla.

Chip has previously won the title in back-to-back years in 2009 and 2010 after earning three separate top-10 finishes in the years prior.

Chip was one of eleven different mascot finalists which included the likes of third place winner "Harry The Husky" from the University of Washington, "Bucky Badger" from Wisconsin, and "Brutus Buckeye" from Ohio State.

Chip entered the final competition ranked as the No. 2 overall mascot thanks to an earlier video submission that accounted for half of his competition points. The other half of his points were earned during a two-minute floor routine that was judged on creativity, crowd appeal, prop usage, animation, enthusiasm, and overall impression.

Also, there was a nice "send-off" video before the team left for Orlanda which included best wishes from bball coaches Boyle and Payne, and some highlights of the team performing and helping get the fans going during games.
