Coaching Notes:

He started in Hawaii? Dang, definitely a solid candidate.

but, did he hunt wild boars with a kitchen knife while there? because, if not, he's not tough enough for CU.

also, it would be important to know if he's a one or two planker. that **** matters, spiritually.

He's a one planker, just like Holgo.

this is libelous! the man carves perfect big mountain S's on a pair of rossi's -- i heard it directly from a friend of a friend of his uncle's wife's sister.
He crushes red bull and doesn't like working too hard. He's a one planker.

see, now, i am willing to compromise... as long as he kilt at least one wild boar with either his bare hands or a dull kitchen knife, i could over look any mountain indiscretions.

Holgorsen, i suspect if you did a background check, has, at least once, wandered out of an indian casino, with a bottle of jack in his hand, and into the woods to dispatch a wild boar, just because he was hungry.

that is the kind of coach boulder NEEDS.

I suspect Dino didn't need a knife, but motivated the boar to jump right into the fire. (back on topic!!)

Yes please but here's the question-what's his buyout? We owe MM a bunch of money, and I'm not sure if we can afford to cut Syracuse another big check to hire him.

Assume Rick George is an intelligent individual who understands the financial situation of the CU Athletic Department far better than anyone here. Once that is understood, stop worrying about anyone's buyout and realize that if he were to become a serious candidate, there is a plan in place to take care of the financial considerations.

Well said. If that's the only argument against him........yeah this would be a pretty good move if it happened.

Babers has done great with that rebuild, he's inspirational and he has a ton of experience in our footprint.

Personal preference is that I don't think I want a coach who is looking for a place that's going to be his last job. I've come around on this. Dino's about 10-15 years older than I think I want for our next HC.

I view Dino as a MM with a higher floor. Here is a good article about recruiting at Syracuse. They seemed to have a similar arc to CU, where they were fighting for 3 stars against other P5 programs instead of G5s. I see a 5 year cycle looking like this: 1 major bowl (holiday, etc), 3 minor bowls, 1 year with no bowl game. We won't sniff the playoffs with him as our coach. I don't think that this is the path that RG is looking for.

Babers has a pretty fiery personality so I would expect a pretty sizable bump in his recruiting when he leaves Cuse and especially if he gets back to familiar territory.
