Fernando Lovo hired as new CU AD

Resume looks pretty light, but seemed to nail his first hire with Eck and boosted revenue & fundraising to a school record. Idk how much of that revenue was tied to on-field vs his operating plan vs predecessor operating plan but positive signs. Not a lot of track record to analyze

**** it, bring Eck too

Lovo is an impressive guy from my limited interactions and observations. Done a lot to energize the community and fans. I'm pretty sure UNM set a Director's Cup record for G5 under him. Everything is positive.
Live look at Nik (and I’m here for it!). We’re gonna win!

It’s not eye popping but it’s a solid resume. And I trust Saliman and Schwartz if they think he’s the guy.

I do find it funny when sports feats that were accomplished by previously hired coaches are listed as pluses for an AD. Just a resume pad, no actual bearing.

Young and just 1 year AD experience. Boom or bust on this one but everything points to him being an up and comer
His past experience as CoS for (football) operations at both the professional and collegiate level tells me, Lovo will be capable in evaluating the way the current football operations are being run and to make necessary changes. Which is something I am not opposed to at all

Okay, let's talk about this bullet point list. How many of those do you really believe he was responsible for, vs just didn't **** up what was already happening and his name happened to be on the desk?

Here's the surprising thing: most of them. The individual track and cross country championships, probably not so much.

But the rest of them I think he can claim legit credit, which is actually pretty impressive.

He was one of the individuals who won a track national championships, actually. Look it up.
