22-30 Arizona lead at the half.

After a competitive 1st quarter that had the Buffs only down 14-15 (after being up I believe 11-5 early after making their 1st 3 3's), the 2nd quarter cntinued the Buffs recent scoring issues, as I believe they only had 1 bucket from the field in the quarter (with the other 6 points coming from the FT line).

Buffs with a solid 3rd quarter shrink the Arizona lead to 2 (40-42).

Come-on Buffs- get that Pac 12 win!

The Buffs lose 63-52.

They have a good first half of f the 4th quarter, but then only score 2 points in the last 5:53 of the game.

The freshmen guards played like freshmen late in the game, as freshmen often will. Also, Jamee Swan definitely seems to be bothered with her back issues, as she gutted it out and played 30 minutes, but only ends up with 2 points on 0-11 shooting from the field. The Buffs finally had a good 3 point shooting game again, going 8-14 from 3. Outside of that, it was a horrible shooting day, as they went ~21% (9-43) from inside the arc.

Oh well- time for them to shake off the season to date, enjoy some good "home cooking", and get ready for the Oregon schools next weekend.

The lack of quality recruiting over the last several year (1 player to a class at best) coupled with the inability to adjust system to match the talent you do have is really evident. So sad to see some of these players trying so hard without the help/support they deserve. I can't imagine why the freshman would stay beyond this season

If there's some player attrition, is it realistic to think the next coach might have some success looking to JUCOs or European players for experienced help? I notice that the CSU women's coach as done pretty well with his Scandanavian players and I wonder if it's a viable idea for CU. Kind of directing this question to Buffgal and Bebe, but if anyone else has an opinion I'd like to hear it.

I get the issues with CU football, but I have no idea why recruiting national level BBall players to CU's women's program is so difficult. Or keeping highly rated instate players here. It seems like half the young people in the country have moved or are trying to move to Colorado.

Just too bad to see this program flounder.

I see no reason why the next coach can't go the Euro route. One of the Pac 12 teams has done that. One of the CU assistant coaches was in Europe in December, while games were being played back here. I'm guessing she was recruiting. I'm also guessing she won't have a job in March.

I think there is something going on more than recruiting. Whey don't the assistant coaches stay? There have been so many changes in the assistant coaches and director of basketball operations during Lappe's tenure.

Ceal's last years were not good either, but they weren't this bad. She was bringing in Euro players and had in the past. One of CU's best centers was only at CU for the 94-95 season, Isabelle Fijalkowski from France. There are a lot of good players in Europe and no reason why they can't come and make an immediate impact at CU.

I just hope Ceal doesn't have enough power to stop George from firing Lappe. Lappe was probably 95% Ceal hire, with Bohn giving tacit approval.

Thanks Buffgal. My strong guess is that Ceal doesn't have enough power to stop George from canning LL.

I am so hoping Ceal does not have the power under George to fire Lappe. Under Bohn, she probably did.

I can't imagine the mood of the players. I don't know enough about the ins and outs of an in season coaching change, but it couldn't get any worse than it is now.

For three quarters today we saw a good decent competitive game but in the fourth quarter the Buffs made all the errors they weren't making in the first three. Even if the Buffs had played a good fourth, Oregon State still most likely would have won. They have way more height and way more depth.

Also have more talent, which we are lacking.

It's remarkable how fast we've fallen. This program was ranked for 25 weeks straight from Dec. 2012 to Jan. 2014, reaching as high as #11.

That was back when Lappe mostly scheduled nobody teams in the preconference season. They barely beat Iowa at home and got killed on the return trip. When they did hit the Pac 12, the losses started and the ranking went away. They lost the first game in the WNIT.

Would love to know what Lappe has been doing in Iowa. I wonder if she is recruiting. If she is, that means she must think she still has a job.

Now we are 0-9 in the Pac. Did think they played better, but not good enough to win. One of UCLA's better players got hurt in the game and I think that hurt UCLA. We shall see what happens Sunday when USC comes to town. They beat Utah tonight.
