Guess the Attendance: San Diego

With all the hype around the team this year, I'm wondering what the support will be like early in the season when the opponents aren't all that enticing for fans.
I'm really hoping for a good showing. Students have shown up well in the past for season openers (2015-16 excluded because it was over thanksgiving), and football has a bye week. Unlike with football, the number of students who show up actually matters when the attendance number is tabulated.

Recent home openers:
2018-19: 5,695
2017-18: 7,740
2016-17: 8,322
2015-16: 7,783
2014-15: 10,058

Last year was the only one of that bunch not to be on a Friday night. It was 6pm on a Tuesday, and the gate clearly suffered. There's also been a general downward trend in basketball attendance since 2013, but I fully expect that to reverse course this season.

My guess? 8,887

8209

Could be lower if weather.

Hope I'm low here.

Go Buffs! I'm really excited for this season.

WOW. Awesome. Thinking of going to the dark horse before the game. If I get there around 7 can my group of 6 expect to park, get food and make it to the game on time? First home game in decades

7,713. I was overly optimistic. It's a little disappointing, especially considering it's the first home game CU has played with a little number next to their name since January 2014. Students showed up at least.

Yes props to the students last night! That was a good showing! And honestly for a mid-November game I thought it was a decent crowd. If tip off is an hour or two earlier maybe attendance is a bit higher.
