He was maybe the hottest coordinator type coming into the year, but tbh hasn't impressed much so far. Tyler Van **** was the next big thing for Miami and is now looking at being benched after a couple rough games. Not sure if that's the fault of Gattis or maybe it's more of a Mario Cristobal thing because rough offense seems to follow that guy around

Gattis was a shining star as recently as last year when he got a lot of the accolades for Michigan's offensive turnaround. (maybe it was more Sherrone Moore?)

Won the prestigious Broyles award in 2021

Stops at Alabama, Penn St, and Vandy prior to his Michigan days, hard to beat that. No way he's not a top tier recruiting working for Saban and Franklin

I like Gattis a lot - worked for Franklin at multiple stops, Saban, Harbaugh, and Cristobal - if anyone knows what a recruiting operation should look like, it’s Gattis. Helped get Michigan over the OSU jump last year and into the playoff. Results this year have been mixed but is part of an entirely new coaching staff with a new HC at a new program and they’re 4 games in so not reading too much into the UM start so far. He’s young, has worked for the right people, knows how to recruit, and is very close to getting looks from bigger programs so grabbing him maybe a year early would be out only hope. If he has some success he’d be gone for a bigger program, but honestly I don’t care.
