Just read:

on corn-o-pedia:

"A schedule change gives the Huskers a bye week before they face Virginia Tech next fall. Also, the 2010 schedule is finalized, with Idaho, Western Kentucky and South Dakota State joining Washington on the nonconference slate."

Wow, 2...count 'em...2 directional schools. Some things never change as the fuskers once again cream puff their way into prominence. (Or lack thereof.):lol:

I don't know if you can count South Dakota State as a directional school - seeing that the direction is in the state's name.

What should we expect from a program that was scared to play Houston a few years ago.

Osborne is going to be SOOO disappointed when he learns that... I wonder if he has an escape clause in the deal so he can schedule North West South Dakota State as he originially intended??

Well Ohio State and even Kansas are living proof that it doesn't matter who you play to be in the BCS/NC. Nebraska obviously takes this strategy to heart...

I guess in defending SDSU (not the one in San Diego), I forgot to actually agree with key west buph. After this season, I guess the Fuskers decided they needed to go back to doing those small schools a favor and allowing them to experience what it's like to get humiliated in front of 80K freaky kNebraska fans in Memorial Stadium. It's so nice of them to allow these kids to see what big-time football is about. :wink2:

Not to mention the fact that "The Classiest Fans in the World" will give them a nice round of applause after the game. Provided they do their part and lose to the fuskers in humiliating fashion, of course....

so they will once again come into Big 12 play with an inflated 4-0 record and national rank of somewhere around 15 and proceed to get smacked around...i can live with that

Not to mention the Hilltoppers!!

I have two cousins that attend SDSU. The school is in the process of transitioning to Division 1-AA. I'm sure they'll be excited to know that NU taking on anyone and everyone now.:wink2:

Washington may suck this year, but they are getting better. Skippy really left that place in a huge freaking mess and it's taken a lot longer for them to dig themselves out of it than one might expect. I'm a believer in Ty Willingham, and I expect that by 2010, they'll be in a position to challenge for the Pac 10 title. So the fuskers won't be 4-0 heading into conference play, they'll be 3-1.

Yep, Uncle Tom is back.

i cant believe we scheduled a creampuff like west virginia ... ;)

I also cant believe we have a school such as LSU on our schedule, I mean cmon, West Virginia, LSU, why on earth would we schedule creampuffs like them?!

Also dont forget about the directional school that NU sheduled last year (SOUTHERN california). Dr. Tom figures that all directional schools are fair game if that directional is a decent team.

if CU could get a packed house for directional schools, we wouldn't have "murderer's row" for a schedule each and every year.....

That day may not be as far off as you think. Even against Miami of Ohio this year we had somewhere close to 50,000 in the stands. I think Mike Bohn has done a masterful job of selling the program and getting butts in the seats.

this doesn't change the fact that SDSU is a cream puff, but South Dakota State is not a directional school.

Rumor has it up here that Idaho may be 1-AA by then if they don't improve their game attendance
