LSU extends Miles thru 2012

Is it just me, or is Michigan's coaching search starting to resemble Nebraska's previous search, when they eventually hired thier 7th or 8th choice?

A fairly small buyout. MU can still get him. It'll just cost them about $1.25 million. Chump change.

exactly, his buyout stayed the same. you think skip bertman would've included a larger buyout, oh well. tuberville's buyout is like $6m, rich rod's is almost $3m i believe.

They still might be waiting on Miles. if they are willing to pony up the cash. On one of the sprots shows they were talking about how Michigan expects coaches to come coach there for usually less money just for the prestige. And now coaches are saying 'Take a pay cut? Thanks, but my family thinks that is a bad idea.'

Miles just signed an extension, so I would hope they're not waiting for him. Otherwise, it's going to be a long wait.

Look up a few threads. He extended his contract, but he can still buy it out for the same amount that he would have had to buy it out for before the extensioin. I think Miles is still in the picture. Big time.

Fair enough. I just don't see it happening. The Michigan AD already ****ed up trying to get Miles. Why would Miles bother dealing with the guy again?

if he leaves the lsu program now, after everything he has preached in the last few weeks, he will look worse than...

...well...

...slick rick.

and that is a pretty monumental achievement.

Worse than Slick Rick and Saban combined. That's saying a lot.

I think Miles signed the contract to make the kids feel he is on board long term so they give max effort against OSU. Then, he made sure the buyout was the same so he still has the same options as before after the game. I still think he is in it. I know that Carr is against him being at Meeeeshigan, but Carr got fired, right? he can't stop them from hiring Miles.

he may not be able to stop them, but carr has been at michigan for 27 years so i can imagine that his word will bear some weight and that he just might know some rather influential people who write big checks to the school now and then.
