Mike Bohn to speak at my Rotary this Thursday

Ask how the search for a new University president is coming along, and if there are any candidates who are favored by the athletic department.

Ask him when the Buffs will have the Zoomies on the schedule.

Ask him whether OU got a fair break from the NCAA relative to meal-gate.

Ask how the search for a new University president is coming along...

This I can answer right now, as we had Regent Lucero at our meeting a couple weeks ago and he addressed this issue. He said that Hank Brown has agreed to stay on throughout the process of hiring a new President, which means he'll probably be there longer than the 1Q - 2008 date we all kind of assumed. It also means there will not be any interim president, which is good. He said the process can take a long time, which, coupled with the fact that Brown will stay throughout the process, is very, very good. Finally, he said that they haven't really started the process in earnest, but expect to form a committee to get the ball rolling soon.

I hope we end up with somebody athetics friendly. I believe a University can be competitive athletically and academically (i.e. UNC, Michigan, UT, UVA) and one does not necessarily exclude the other. In fact, they very well may enhance each other.

Ask him if we can please avoid home games at Invesco.
Ask him when CSU will come off of the annual schedule.
Ask him about bringing hockey to CU.

I'll ask this.

The home game at Invesco is a non-issue. We have 6 games a year at Folsom regardless of whether we have a "home" game at Invesco. We make money of that game and I'm fine with it the way it is. The CSU game will probably never come off the schedule. Just deal with it my man. Just deal with it.

Sacky - tx 4 th' update. I met Tillie Bishop back in March. I like him. I knew Kyle Hybl when we were students at CU. Havent heard from him since. Clearly charting the direction of the U, getting funding from the state (and other sources) and finding a new President are the big 3 things on their plates. Having gone through the Judith Albino era, I hope the Regents and alumni don't minimize athletics. This alums support to the school would shrink as a result of that.

Yes, ask him what his expectations are for the FB team this year. Is it W/Ls, recruiting etc. What is it specifically that he is gauging progress by.

Thanks.

He's not big on w/l expectations. He's more of a culture guy. He wants to see that the program is generating excitement and being a strong contributor to the success of the athletic department as a whole. That doesn't really answer your question, but that's the story.
