So what was the point of the other post? Why not just be happy for a favorite son of the Tad Boyle era finding another place to get paid well to hoop?Scheiß Bayern Basketball

His catch and shoot three was one of the best I’d seen.Tristan da Silva really was the best from that group.
He may be the best pro, but KJ was the heart and soul of the group.Tristan da Silva really was the best from that group.
With his personality and temperament, another year or two with Tad might have been the better option. But you never know.Count me in as surprised that Cody is struggling as much as he is
He was in a terrible spot the 24 draft sucked. You can’t turn down getting drafted top 10.With his personality and temperament, another year or two with Tad might have been the better option. But you never know.
I get the reasoning. Will he have a long NBA career? Who knows. I see dudes like Ajay Mitchell (OKC) who was a second rounder and is putting up killer numbers for the world champions in just his second year. That guy will get paid his next contract. Second rounder would probably have benefited Cody (who doesn’t have the spotlight mentality) in terms of long term potential. Keeping the criticism at bay with low expectations I think fits who he is better. But yeah, you see your shot you take it.He was in a terrible spot the 24 draft sucked. In the 25 draft he might have slipped to second round. He had to go.
Cody has a long way to go. Once I saw him play at CU I realized that he was the type that needed three years of college, minimum. He got less than one by the time you account for injuries. Any team that drafted him had to be planning on having him get tons of pine time for the first three to four years of his career. Was he wise for taking the money? Maybe. But a player develops best when they play not when they need to carry a tweezer to remove splinters from the bench. Going early very well good have cost him millions in future contracts.I get the reasoning. Will he have a long NBA career? Who knows. He needs to be playing in the G league. He is exactly what that league was supposed to be for, a place for talented young players to learn how to play NBA level basketball.Cody has a long way to go. KJ was the better college playerTristan da Silva really was the best from that group.
I can't blame him for going in the draft that was very thin, but he would have really benefited from another year or two at Colorado.Cody has a long way to go. With the frequency of games NBA teams don't practice much in season and when they do it rarely is very intense. For a guy who isn't getting much playing time there isn't much opportunity to develop.I can't blame him for going in the draft that was very thin, but he would have really benefited from another year or two at Colorado.
Maybe the G-League is a better path, but definitely looks to need some strength and experience.
