Great week of college football as the Buffs are back!!! There's also 2 top 10 matchups but unfortunately the
Clemson-ND matchup starts 30 minutes after the CU game.
Schedule updates:
Purdue at #10 Wisconsin - cancelled
Louisville at Virginia - postponed til 11/14. Having byes in the schedule is actually a good idea, who knew.
Air Force at Army - cancelled
Washington at Cal - cancelled
Game of the Week:
#1 Clemson at #4 Notre Dame, Saturday 7:30pm NBC
As everyone knows Trevor Lawrence is out for this game. Clemson will once again have a couple of starters out on defense just
like last week, but they settled down after a rough early start. BC gained more than half of their total yards on the first
2 drives last week. DJ was good in his first collegiate start but their offense is clearly nothing like it was with Lawrence
playing. ND has struggled to throw the ball downfield with the exception of the Pitt game and they'll probably need to do so
in order to have a chance in this one.
There's some interesting streaks in this one too:
- Notre Dame has won 22 straight at home
- Clemson has 14 straight wins in true road games
- Brian Kelly is 0-7 all-time against AP top 5 teams
- Clemson is 0-12 all-time on the road against AP top 5 teams
Tonight:
Utah State at Nevada, 7pm FS1
Wyoming at CSU, 9pm CBSSN
Friday Games:
#11 Miami at NC State, Friday 7:30pm ESPN
The Canes are still sitting there with just 1 loss and if they win out would either end up in the ACCCG or with just 1 loss and
not make the CCG depending on what ND and Clemson do the rest of the way. Miami has had a couple of uninspiring wins over middling
ACC teams the past 2 games and NC State fits that same category.
San Jose State at SDSU, 9pm CBSSN
#9 BYU at #21 Boise State, Friday 9:45 FS1
Both teams are undefeated although Boise is only 2-0. Neither has a schedule to get them considered for the CFP but the winner
could very much be in play for a NY6 game, especially if it's BYU.
Other Saturday Notable Games:
Arizona State at #20 USC, noon Fox - 9am Pacific
This is the best time to try out the 9am kickoffs with no fans allowed in anyway. This noon EST window has done very well in the
ratings for Fox, although it's worth pointing out that the games usually involved Ohio State or Michigan. But the Pac12 should
get alot of exposure for this game since the highlights will be rolling all afternoon and evening long. On the field this game
matches the 2 arguably best QB's in the conference and USC is the prohibitive favorite to win the South.
#23 Michigan at #13 Indiana, noon FS1
Michigan needs this win to stay in the B1G East race. Michigan flopped against MSU after an impressive opening win over
Minnesota, who maybe isn't as good as many thought coming into the season.
Nebraska at Northwestern, noon BTN
This game has some significance in the B1G West race - for Northwestern that is.
#8 Florida vs. #5 Georgia, 3:30 CBS
The cocktail party features strength against strength with Florida's offense against the UGA defense, and also weakness against
weakness with the struggling Georgia offense taking on the Florida defense. How much more will the Dawg offense have to struggle
before Kirby makes the switch to JT Daniels? The winner of this game virtually locks up the SEC East.
Houston at #6 Cincinnati, 3:30 ABC
Cincinnati continues their quest for an undefeated season with hopes of crashing the CFP party.
#14 Oklahoma State at Kansas State, 4pm Fox
KSU has been up and down and the winner of this game will be in good position to make the Big 12 championship game.
#7 Texas A&M at South Carolina, 7pm ESPN
The 1-loss Aggies have a very manageable schedule the rest of the way and won't be playing in the SEC Championship game.
Rutgers at #3 Ohio State, 7:30pm BTN
Ohio State will continue to roll and Fields has been nearly perfect throwing the ball.
Stanford at #12 Oregon, 7:30pm ABC
Oregon is the clear favorite in the P12 North but I expect this game to be tougher than expected for them. Oregon has to replace a
top 10 pick at QB and their entire OL. Granted Stanford lost their 2 best players due to opt-outs but they return the majority of
their offense including one of the better QB's in the conference.
Washington State at Oregon State, 10:30pm FS1
This is the only Pac12 After Dark option after the Washington-Cal game was cancelled.
