It probably makes sense for ESPN to get its own national insider for CFB like they have with Schefter, Woj or Passan for the other leagues.

I don't see how that's driving subscriptions. Maybe with the website if he writes some more?

But ESPN hasn't really had that insider ever since they let go of McMurphy and Feldman and I think there's a lot of focus on who breaks stuff first these days.

Anyone would love to monetize that kind of information Thamel provides and this move makes sense for ESPN+ although some of that stuff Thamel provides will still be free. And there was ESPN Insider before it was moved over to ESPN+.

Hopefully he'll replace some of the a$$clowns like David Pollack that have poisoned gameday since their arrival
