The Americans begin play on July 28.
Fresh off winning an NBA Championship with the Boston Celtics, Colorado hero Derrick White will compete for a gold medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics. The final player added to a loaded Team USA, White replaced the injured Kawhi Leonard.
As legends like LeBron James, Stephen Curry and Kevin Durant command the ball, White and Jrue Holiday will be utilized as glue guys whose defense, energy and unselfish play compliments their superstar teammates.
Guard defense will be an absolute must when the Americans take on their top challengers. Canada features Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Jamal Murray, while both Australia and Germany play fast-paced, guard-driven basketball. Even Serbia, led by Nikola Jokic, will struggle to score if Bogdan Bogdanovic gets eaten up on the ball.
The Americans will begin play on Thursday, July 28 against Serbia at 9:15 am. After that, they will face the dangerous South Sudan on Sunday, July 31 at 11:00 am, then then Puerto Rico on Wednesday, August 3 at 9:15 am. (All times MT.)
Assuming the Americans advance, the quarterfinals will be played on the 6th, the semis on the 8th and the medal matches on the 10th. All times are TBD.
Team USA’s matches against Serbia and Puerto Rico will be aired on NBC, while the South Sudan match will be on USA Network. All other matches can be found on the many channels of NBA and the full schedule can be found online here.
