The Colorado Buffaloes will still be without some key starters when they kickoff against the Kansas Jayhawks at 1:30 pm MT.

One of which is wide receiver Jimmy Horn Jr., who will miss action today at Kansas City’s Arrowhead Stadium this afternoon. Horn rolled his ankle in Lubbock against Texas Tech two weeks ago and hasn’t returned since. Although Horn will be out today, he’ll hopefully be able to play on senior day against Oklahoma State next Friday.

Starting nickel corner Preston Hodge is also out against the Jayhawks today. Hodge suffered an undisclosed injury before CU’s game against Utah and missed action last week, and he’ll sit again to rest up. Expect a heightened workload from cornerbacks Colton Hood and Isaiah Hardge, along with safety Carter Stoutmire, in Hodge’s absence.

Hodge isn’t the only defensive starter to miss action today, as defensive tackle Shane Cokes will sit also against Kansas. Cokes’ injury is undisclosed and missed action against the Utes last week as well. Reigning Big 12 Defensive Player of the Week Amari McNeill is expected to start in his place.

Alright, that’s enough of the bad news. Let’s get into some positive stuff.

True freshman running back Micah Welch will make his return this week after missing four games. Welch has been dealing with a hamstring injury and hasn’t played since the first half of Colorado’s win over Arizona in Tucson, but will get work in the backfield this afternoon for the Buffs.

Kickoff is coming up shortly! Make sure to tune in to Fox and support the Buffs!

Have a fun and safe gameday, and as always, Sko Buffs!
