A wild ride comes to an end
After a magical time in Kansas defeating three hometown teams, Team Colorado, the alumni team in the Tournament, ran into a freight train in the Houston alumni team at the semifinal game in Houston on Tuesday night. The defense, much like the real Houston Cougar team, was suffocating for the former Buffs and they just couldn’t get the offense rolling tonight. The absence of Shannon Sharpe didn’t help in the backcourt, either, so Shane Gatling had to step up and make a move.
Rob Gray, the Houston star, showed up and destroyed the Buffs on the offensive and defensive end. Andre Roberson was his normal self, but couldn’t get it started on the offensive end. Team Colorado couldn’t hit a three to save their lives and Houston caught fire from deep, and in the end, Houston was too big, too athletic and too strong for Team Colorado to go toe to toe, and in the end, 5th in the field ain’t bad.
It was a great run for Team Colorado, and now they get to go home and rest up. We loved watching them to go to work. Rest easy and we’ll see you next year.
