Regent Linda Shoemaker attacks football again

After rereading that tweet, I’m much more annoyed. Liability? Maybe CTE and other injuries pose a risk but it’s small IMO. Declining revenues? I don’t see any forecast predicting CFB or CU is st risk of declining revenues. Unpaid? Stipend and free education (which the AD pays the school for).

She’s making mountains out of mole hills to substantiate her bias against football. She is an example why “Boulder” is used as a perjorative. She can leave now.

It’s hard to pick out context in stories like this. Is she passive aggressively attacking the football program or is she bringing up issues that they, as regents, should pay attention to and deal with proactively?

We tend to get our panties in a wad whenever it appears that somebody is “attacking” our Buffs. I honestly don’t have any idea what her motivations are, but the CTE issue is real, and it’s in the news a lot lately.

She's the Regent who stepped out for a drink of water to abstain from the MacIntyre contract extension vote.

She's the Regent that attacked MM and RG over the Tumpkin situation while giving complete cover to her friends in OIEC who had bungled the training and follow-up.

She is an old woman with an antiquated outlook and an axe to grind with the importance of football to the health of an athletic department and as a driver for a university's growth.

Well, then it sounds like she’s also easily ignored.
