Rivals and On3 Merger

Recruiting databases are merging with the On3 integration of Rivals. I got an email this morning that my Rivals newsletter will now be from On3. Looks like Rivals is going to be phased out. The previous announcements had said that the recruiting database would be under the Rivals name, but now it's looking to me like On3 is the brand that yahoo is going to be emphasizing.

@WasianCU - if the ratings from each are now the same, I guess Rivals link and ratings can be dropped from profiles.

Isn’t the guy who started On3 the same guy that started Rivals way back when?

And 24/7. He’ll sell On3 to a mega-corporation soon and start a fourth one a couple of years later. 😂

Terry really does have good vision for how things are evolving. I thought On3 was gimmicky and the data was pretty meaningless, but the company launched with a focus on NIL value of players as a ranking tool and had an upgraded social media game.

I thought that 24/7 was his best model for what I care about (pulling the best publishers, scouts, and writers from Rivals & Scout) with upgraded database & message board technology. The innovative hook was compiling composite ratings from across sites, which wasn't gimmicky at all - just great to get perspective and maybe eliminate some bias in the data.
