(I plan on continuing to use and update this thread as, hopefully, the Buffs continue to advance.)

No game preview(s) or anything like that out yet, but thought I'd start this thread now since the Buff's (10-9, 8-8, #50 in the NET rankings) opponent and seed (#6) was determined yesterday after
  • Their planned game with Utah was cancelled due to Covid-19 issues within the Ute program, along with
  • previously fellow conference .500 record team OSU pulled an upset over then #14 Oregon yesterday to finish 7-6 snag the #5 seed.
That 1st scheduled Buff opponent is the Washington Huskies (6-13, 3-13, #93 NET). (Although the higher seed, and having won both games in the regular season, I'm sure the Buffs will be taking Udub VERY seriously, as both games were relatively close (a 10 point Buff win in Boulder and +5 point result in Seattle).

The winner of Wednesday's Buff game is scheduled to face the #3 seed (and nationally ranked #7/9) UCLA Bruins on Thursday, also scheduled to start at 9:00 PM MT.

I'm guessing that, if it's the usual setup, all tourney games (until maybe the final) will be on the Pac 12 Networks.

Go Buffs!!!

(With Utah having to cancel its last game, and other Covid-19 related issues constantly arising, hope the tourney can largely if not totally go off as scheduled.)

Anyone know what would happen if Utah still cannot play? The CU at Utes game was cancelled at the last minute due to covid protocol in the Utes team so it might still be a problem come Wednesday.

Never mind

Congrats to the 3 Buffs earning conference honors!

(Per the article linked to in the below tweet -
"
SAN FRANCISCO – Senior Mya Hollingshed highlighted a trio of Colorado honorees following the Pac-12's announcement of its annual All-Conference Awards on Monday.

Hollingshed picked up an All-Conference nod, while sophomore Jaylyn Sherrord was selected to the All-Defensive Team and freshman Frida Formann was named honorable mention All-Freshman.

LAS VEGAS – The Colorado women's basketball team put itself in a position that it hasn't been in since the 2013 Pac-12 Tournament. The Buffaloes, the No. 6 seed, will open as the higher seed when they take on No. 11 Washington at 9 p.m. MT on Wednesday.

Colorado finished the Pac-12 season with an even 8-8 record, marking the most conference wins for the Buffaloes since finishing 13-5 in 2012-13.

Having the higher seed in the opening game is a feeling none of the current players have ever experienced.

"You come into the tournament wanting to win," junior Aubrey Knight explained. "You come into every game wanting to win. Right now, we're are in a position where we are a higher seed which a lot of us have never experienced before. We are coming off some good wins and are in a position to do well. We know that we can beat every team in this conference, making sure we beat Stanford and a lot of these teams we've come really close with.

"I think we're all coming into this with a fresh mindset. We need to show everyone what team we are right now because we're different than what we were at the beginning of the season."

CU enters the tournament on a four-game winning streak, its longest conference winning streak since the 2012-13 season. The Buffs missed out on a chance to make it five, having their regular-season finale canceled at Utah last Sunday.

A deep run in the tournament means the Buffs have the potential of playing four games in five days. The extra rest is something CU hopes can be an advantage at this point of the season.
...

"I think we're very ready," head coach JR Payne noted. "I think we were very ready to play on Sunday. We had a great week of practice and we're excited for the opportunity to play our travel partner again. I think that added fuel to our readiness. We were frustrated we didn't get to play and have that momentum build up. Without playing on Sunday, it just kind of put more fuel in our fire as far as being ready to play in Vegas."

The Buffaloes went 2-0 against the Huskies this season for the first time since the 2017-18 season. CU and UW have met twice at the Pac-12 Tournament with each team getting a win. The last tournament meeting was in Seattle in 2016 (UW, 67-51).

Wednesday's game will be on the Pac-12 Networks. Cory Lopez and Carol Callan will have the call on the Colorado Radio Network (CUBuffs.com/Listen) and AM 630 locally.

Disappointed with how the team played. Season is probably over.
The turnovers, mostly unforced, were deadly. Around the 3 minute or so mark of the 4th quarter the Buffs had the deficit down to 9 points and preceded to commit 4 turnovers.

Unless there is a WNIT the season is over.

The only consolation is they made their 4 free throws that they shot.

Sounds like there will be an WNIT.

Yeah Buffs definitely played themselves out of the NCAA with this ugly game. Prior to this they were a tenuous bubble team in ESPN's bracketology. WNIT website says there will be a tourney this year and Buffs resume should ensure them of an at-large bid.
