The preseason USA Today rankings were published today and CU fell 14 spots from the end of last year, coming in at 101. Below is where CU's opponents rank.

CSU - 81st
Idaho State - No rank
Michigan - 8
Oregon - 17
Oregon State - 114
USC - 34
ASU - 48
Stanford - 11
UCLA - 4
Arizona - 37
WSU - 54
Utah - 36

Some things really jump out at me as being completely fubar. For example UCLA at 4 and Arizona State jumping up 28 spots from last year.
 
Completely messed up.

When you have G5 schools like Western Michigan and Louisiana Tech in the 30's and Georgia Southern and New Mexico ahead of multiple P5 schools you might as well be drawing names out of a hat. San Diego State at #14 tops of the ridiculous

Funny how CU is 8 point (last I heard) favorites over the team ranked 20 spots higher on a neutral field.
 
What a bunch of malarkey. Buffs are and will show much better than that.
For all the reasons stated:

plethora of Seniors and juniors
been in the system 3 to 5 years
Maturity/ mental attitude
Experienced players (Starts and games and snaps played)
3.5 years installing the Mac2 methodology
Coaching changes/upgrades
Better strength and conditioning.
Nice facilities.
Fans are coming back. The hype is strong.

That ranking is shocking if not so stupid.

Year 4 bowl game. The bed is made.
