Was this the worst half in the history of Colorado football?

I am not sure what we did out there could be considered football. Looked more like a steaming pile of bull****.

Yes. Worst first half by CU for sure. There were other horrible ones, like the MAC team, the Mountain West team, etc., but this was the worst.

Statistically speaking it looks worse than 58-0 against Mizzou in 2008. I wouldn’t be surprised if 2012 or 2022 had one, those teams probably don’t beat Delaware.

I think the 2nd half of the "taking a moment" game may have been worse.

I also think I was sort of resigned to expecting a game like this at some point this year - so it wasn't unexpected.

I'm hopeful that this sort of unmitigated ass kicking wakes prime up to the fact that he can't double down on what he's been doing so far, but really does need to make some non incremental changes.

It arguably was the worst just on the statistics. It is easily the worst based on expectations and importance.

Some of those others mentioned like Toledo and Fresno we had teams that we expected to be terrible, not that terrible but terrible. This is a team that has some level of talent and that had expectations of a bowl game.

I remember one of the Hawkins team waxed by Pinkel and Mizzou at Folsom. Maybe Gabbert, I think it was after Chase Daniel. Buffs had more turnovers than yards at the half. And Pinkel wasn't ever really playing a lot of D. They had a big WR (not Maclin) and whenever he lined up out by himself, everyone in the stadium knew it was going to him.....and it did. a sackful of 30+ yard receptions. Automatic.

Toledo was pretty bad. I think Dan in his next week presser claimed that people asked him "Hawk, why do your teams always tackle so well?". His answer was "we don't practice it". After the Toledo humiliation and he seemed completely unaware how weird an answer that was. Expecting everyone to continue to buy in to the Hawk Love. oof.

but, yeah, last night ridiculous bad.

there was a switzer OU v. Fairbanks CU game back in the day. I think it was like 42-0 at the half and Fairbanks sent a messenger over to his former OC switzer to beg for mercy in the 2nd half. the Sooners ran the fullback up the middle for most of the rest of the game.

that was worse. it was, however, expected. this one was not what I was expecting to see.

Maybe the history of D1 football

43-0
398 to -18 yards
Turnover, blocked punt, shanked punt, safety, successful fake punt

Complete domination in all 3 phases like I've never seen before.
Dudes weren't ready to go at all and they had extra time to get them ready. It was a joke period.

FWIW, that game was 34-21 at the half. there's a lot of bad info /lore about that game. I was there with my dad. Fairbanks may have sent the messenger, but it wasn't at the half. Irv Brown does this game for early ESPN, and in the first half advocates for returning to football with no face masks. no joke.

We have definitely seen a lot of similar ****. But this team had much more talent than any of those teams that had miserable halves. This one is the worst one I’ve ever seen. And I don’t think it’s really even a question imo
