BOULDER—Ten Colorado Buffaloes were named to the At-Large Academic All-District teams presented by College Sports Communicators, the organization announced Wednesday.
The at-large team consists of several sports, including golf, lacrosse and skiing for the Buffs, and each school is allowed to nominate five men and five women for the honor. As long as the student-athletes are past their first year in residence at CU and possess above a 3.5 grade point average, they will automatically be named Academic All-District and be placed on the ballot for Academic All-America consideration.
The 10 Buffs that earned the honor are
Hanna Abrahamsson (Nordic skiing),
Jacob Dilling (alpine skiing),
Elena Exenberger (alpine skiing),
Louis Fausa (alpine skiing),
Filip Forejtek (alpine skiing),
Lauren Gooding (women's golf),
Emma Hammergaard (alpine skiing),
Oyvind Haugan (Nordic skiing),
Will Koch (Nordic skiing) and
Charlie Rudy (lacrosse).
Abrahamsson is a sophomore studying environmental engineering and finished the 2023 season as a two-time first-team All-American at the NCAA championships, finishing in the top five in both the classic and freestyle races. On the season she didn't finish lower than seventh in any race with nine top five finishes, seven podiums and one race win.
Dilling is a sophomore majoring in communication at CU and had a solid season with five top five performances including three podiums and a race win. A two-time All-American, he has qualified for NCAA Championships both seasons and is a two-time All-RMISA performer.
Exenberger is a sophomore majoring in psychology and media studies and finished the 2023 season with 10 top 20 performances in 11 finished races including three top 10s. She has qualified for the NCAA Championships twice and was a World University Games participant in 2023, as well.
Fausa is a junior studying business finance at Colorado. He finished 10 races in 2023, all in the top 20 with seven top 10 and five top five including three podiums. A first-team All-American in the GS race, he finished runner-up to Forejtek as the Buffs went 1-2 in the race.
Forejtek is a graduate student earning a master's in data science at CU. He successfully defended his individual national championship in the giant slalom on 2023 and in all, had five top five with four podiums and two race wins. One of only a few to repeat as GS individual champion, he is a six-time All-American and two-time RMISA MVP.
Gooding is a sophomore majoring in strategic communication and was third for the Buffs with a 76.41 stroke average after leading the team in the fall with a 75.27 mark. She had the Buffs low round of the season, shooting a 5-under 67 at the Golfweek Red Sky Classic.
Hammergaard is a senior majoring in psychology with two minors in sociology and gender studies. She was a two-time All-American for the Buffs in 2023, including a first-team All-American in the GS race, finishing fifth after being named first-team All-RMISA. She finished in the top 10 nine times with three top five's and one podium appearance.
Haugan is a junior majoring in business finance and he finished all 10 races this season with eight top 20 and two top 10 performances. A two-time All-American at CU, he has been a member of the 4.0 club, Pac-12 Academic Honor Roll and the Dean's list multiple times.
Koch is a junior majoring in psychology with two minors in business and philosophy. He finished eight of nine races in the top 10 in 2023 including one top five and a podium appearance. A four-time All-American, he has earned two All-RMISA honors during his time at CU.
Rudy is a graduate student earning a master's in business analytics. She finished her lacrosse career as CU's second all-time leading scorer and was drafted by Athletes Unlimited in the organization's third lacrosse season.

BOULDER—Nine University of Colorado track and field and cross country athletes were named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District team.
Five women and four men picked up the honor. To be eligible the student-athletes had to have completed their first year in residence at CU and possess about a 3.5 grade point average. The All-District honorees will automatically be placed on the ballot for Academic All-America consideration.

Hunter Appleton,
Jace Aschbrenner,
Colton Romig,

Kaitlyn Barthell,
Abbey Glynn,
Grace Jenkins,
Alisa Meraz-Fishbein and
Elle Orie.
Appleton is a senior studying ecology & evolutionary biology. He finished seventh in the 5000-meters at the Pac-12 Outdoor Championships. Appleton ran a personal best of 13:52.39 in the 5000-meters at the Husky Classic and had a personal best time of 7:59.62 in the 3000-meters at the Ken Shannon Invitational.
Aschbrener, a junior studying mechanical engineering, ran a personal best of 28.46.76 in the 10000-meters at the Stanford Invitational this season. He finished 10th in the 10k at the Pac-12 Outdoor Championships and represented CU in the event at the NCAA West Preliminaries.
Romig is a sophomore studying mechanical engineering. He finished first in the 400-meter hurdles with a personal best time of 52.74 at the Air Force Twilight Open this season. He placed eighth in the Pac-12 Outdoor Championships in the 400 hurdles. He ran a 49.30 in the 400-meters to finish second at the Air Force Collegiate Open.
Welch is in his second year at CU, studying neuroscience and psychology. He placed sixth in the steeplechase at this year's Pac-12 Outdoor Championships. He won the same event at the Desert Heat Classic and ran a personal best time of 9:01.79 at the Bryan Clay Invitational. He also won the 1500-meters at the Stanford Invitational with a PR time of 3:52.29.
Barthell is a graduate student studying ecology & evolutionary biology. She represented the Buffs in the 5000-meters at the NCAA West Preliminary Round and placed eighth at the Pac-12 Outdoor Championships event. Barthell also finished sixth in the 10000-meters at the Pac-12 meet. She ran personal best in the 6k at the 2022 Pac-12 Cross Country Championships, clocking a 19:45.5 and helping CU win the team title. She ran for the Buffs in the NCAA Championship meet.
Glynn is a junior studying leadership/community engagement and psychology. She ran a school record time of 56.01 in the 400-meter hurdles to qualify for the upcoming NCAA Championships. She will be seeded third in the event. She also anchored the 4x400 relay for the women at the NCAA West Prelims, helping the team qualify with a time of 3>33.54. Glynn placed second in the 400 hurdles at this year's Pac-12 meet.
Jenkins, a sophomore studying chemical & biological engineering, opened the 4x400 relay for the Buffs at the NCAA West Prelims last weekend. The relay time of 3:33.54 is the second-fastest time on the CU performance list. Individually, Jenkins won the 400-meters at this year's Kit Mayer Classic.
Meraz-Fishbein is a junior studying journalism. She ran a personal best time of 10:28.60 in the 3000-meters at the Colorado Invitational. She opened her outdoor season with a second-place finish in the 1500-meters at the Kit Mayer Classic. She ran a PR of 20:46.6 in the 6k at the 2022 Pac-12 Cross Country Championships helping CU win the team title and representing the Buffs in the NCAA Championships.
Orie is a graduate student in integrative physiology. She placed seventh in the 5000-meters and 4th in the steeplechase at the Pac-12 Outdoor Championships. She ran a personal best 4:21.46 in the 1500-meters at the Bryan Clay Invitational. She also set a new PR in the 6K at the Pac-12 Cross Country Championships, helping the Buffs to the team title with a time of 20:20.6. Orie also represented the Buffs in the 6k at the NCAA Championships.
