Exactly what we needed. From the writer who covers TCU hoops:

Eddie Lampkin, a center who is averaging 6.3 points and 5.9 rebounds, has a reputation for laying it all out on the floor, fighting for loose balls, extending plays and refusing to give up on defense.

He leads the team with 66 total offensive rebounds, 14 more than any other Frog. In the Big 12 tournament, the Frogs will have to make due without Lampkin, who is arguably the soul of the team.

You can't measure just how much better we'll be next year with a post player who is actually ready and able to receive passes in the lane from teammates driving the paint and dishing. Holy sh!t I'm excited! Tad just needs to sell Knecht as being the final piece of a Sweet 16 team.

It’s also just good to see Tad can land a transfer from a P5 school. If he can have success here, maybe it leads to more down the road. The recent cycle of Ivy League, low mid majors and juco transfers kinda taints our program IMO.
Tad has landed multiple transfers from P5 schools before, it just had to be very specific situations due to the credit requirements that CU had until this offseason. Hence the Ivy League grad transfers (who were backup plans to other players, like Bobi Klintmann, who could not get into CU for some reason)

I’m not disappointed. Would have rather of had Ware or Graham. Lampkin is a risk that could pay off huge or leave CU in a hole, relying heavily on Hurlburt. He’s had issues and that’s telling that Tad wanted his size and energy enough to not wait on someone else.

J'Vonne and Shane Gatling were both solid uses of scholarship and both came from the Juco route. Oregon has always brought in Juco guys, Chris Duarte, Jadarian Tracey, Rivaldo Soares, LJ Figueroa.

Most people who transfer are lower level guys trying to prove themselves at a higher level. Most high major starters don't transfer (until this year).

It's not as simple as P5 guy versus low level guy. It's do you want Dalton Knecht the 23rd leading scorer in all of college basketball who has awesome shooting splits in the big sky with one year of eligibility or do you want a highly touted guy in the 2020 class Dominick Harris who was Gonzaga's 11th guy and wasn't able to crack their rotation in two years but still has 3 years of eligibility. And even if you want those guys do they want you.

It's projection, culture, fit, mutual interest, a lot of things to weigh.

And who will be throwing passes into the post that won’t be at his ankles?

I'm envisioning som of what we saw last night from Sanogo with the OReb and setting that opposite block screen for TDS to get free & then sealing to be wide open in the lane as an option on that play if they switch it.

Huh? Who are the multiple P5 transfers Tad has signed? Namon Wright from Missouri and Josh Fortune from Providence. In what, 12 years? (Carlon Brown came from Utah but they were MWC at the time.)
