Kelly's profile on Rivals now lists an official visit to CU for 11/22.
 
kind of surprising to see a Juco DT given where the class sizes are at. Hmmmmmm
 
MacIntyre should sign about 25 players. There will be attrition in the spring. Would like to see about 5 Jucos.
 
I'd love to have him as a Buff. Looks like a good effort guy. We need more of that and it will rub off on the young guys.
 
Not that I mind going after a JUCO DT, but five DTs in one graduating class is a concern.

More concerning is how they play. Agree on class balance but do our interior DLinemen make plays?

Don't want just another big body but if he is significantly better than what we have then that's a problem we can deal with.

I'm not worried about class balance at this point. I've got to believe in the 2-deep before I start having those concerns. Kelly would play well for us next year.

He is now predicted to CAL by AZ on 247s

Fwiw Illinois' 247s writer predicted Kelly to CU today. I'm starting to come around to the idea of bringing in Kelly. Obviously not ideal to have have all the DL graduating at the same time... but we need so much help on D and Kelly would be a solid player if not a starter.

Cal visit this week. They also added a juco dt in the last week. He is also a mid year transfer. I wouldn't mind building a pipeline to San Mateo jc at all. They have like 10+ guys going to bcs programs this year.

Good find Slider.
Will allow us to develop some younger guys that look more like DE's but will be DT's. We might actually get to BCS level depth at DL someday.

He would be a good get. Even if he isn't a starter if he can be a solid rotation guy it would mean that we could more effectively rotate interior DL. We don't have any of the big, dominant anchor guys so it is important that we can keep the guys we are playing fresh.
