One of the more underrated guys by the premium services in the west.
 
I saw he is set to visit this weekend (sorry my computer is acting up and I can't get the link to copy).
 
Here is what Legit 4.4 speed looks like. This kid is shifty too. Lorenzo might be my favorite skilled athlete on the board right now. I like him as an offensive play maker but he could obviously play corner too. Just get him here.
 
LEGIT, there wasn't one play on his tape where he wasn't the fastest player on the field. :jawdrop: We need us some of that!

That was his main sales-pitch and I really tuned in and listened to him."

That quote about "not letting football use you" is new to me, but I like it and it dovetails with what we see repeated a lot. MacIntyre very much stresses that this is about being a family, growing as a person, and his "4 Fs" that he talks about.

When recruits look at the retention rate, graduation rate, and - starting this year - getting guys drafted... it's going to be such a powerful message.

I think we are already seeing dividends paying off in recruiting with Mac's persistent work, new facilities and uniforms. I could see a quantum leap in recruiting if we go bowling this year. I'm liking Mac more and more as time goes on...

I think this is the right approach to get the kids we want into the program and to build them and program in the direction we want to go. When you don't take the shortcuts you are much less likely to find yourself falling back when problems do come up, the kids and the program are better able to handle it.

This is also important in a place like Boulder where no matter how successful the program may be there will always be an element that opposes athletics and especially football. If the program is producing wins and quality citizens it is much easier to drown out those voices.

It is also important for a program that does not have a big talent pool of loyal local kids to draw on to have the support of the HS coaches in the areas we want to recruit in. When kids are telling their HS coaches that "Coach MaCIntyre and CU are doing right by me" it's a lot easier to get a foot in the door with future recruits.
 
Seems like a smart kid to recognize the genuine value that Mac and this staff place on developing high character men with a strong sense of family and community, as well as their strong commitment to get CU winning again . So many college athletes never do well in life. A lot of coaches talk the talk, and talk and talk. Coach Mac seems pretty genuine in his values. Next year, I'd love to see some 'Burns' marks left on the grass field at the Colleseum as Lorenzo streaks down the sideline dressed in the CU all white combo. This seems to be a kid who can excel at CU, a great opportunity for the Buffs and for him.

I hope he comes here and redshirts. We should really try to give the kids a year to lift, work on nutrition, and concentrate on grades first and playbook second. Each year I hope we play less and less true freshmen.
