My top 5 in order are:

Alex Grinch (realistic candidate here and I would love to see what he does when he’s not coaching a defense opposite the air raid style)

Tony Eliot ( he’s not leaving, pipe dream)

Andy Avalos (how is he different from Chev? Well he didn’t fail miserably calling the plays in a big boy league. Actually he created an elite defense)

That doesn’t really address the experience and assistant coach network but okay.

Also, didn’t that defense got torched by ASU in a game that could have had them in the cfp if they had won it?

It doesn’t, I didn’t see your post when I was typing so that’s on me. But even on the experience part, Grinch has much more coordinator experience and has also coach under Urban Meyer and Lincoln Riley. Avalos has much more coordinator experience than Chev and successful at that even if most of it is at Boise State. Tony Eliot, obviously has the experience. Graham Harrell more experience and success as coordinator. It’s becoming clear he was the reason for North Texas’ success. Ryan Walters, more success.

all of these guys have questions on their network for bringing in AC’s except grinch imo, but I’d still take all of them over Chev because they successfully coordinated highly achieving units.

Man, hearing people wanting Sark is nuts?

my list is:

1. EB with Chev
2. Chev with Walters
3. Grinch with Chev
4. Avalos with Chev
5. Blake Anderson

just think even though Chev needs to calm the social media down, we lose a lot of players if new staff without him comes in

Why do you think it’s nuts?

My pipe dream is Brent Venables. Probably as realistic as some of the other names being thrown around.

I have said it multiple places, baggage, media narratives, BoR, do not see recruiting going well, I hate Coach Carroll, bad juju
So the guy who is responsible for bringing in Bryce Young wouldn’t do well in recruiting? I think he would be a splash hire who has a good pool of potential assistants he could pull from given his coaching experience. Also his offense would be a pretty solid fit, and if we don’t have good QB play, he is the type of guy who has shown he could go get an elite QB recruit

1. EB
2. Grinch
3. Avalos
4. Harsin
5. Walters

That‘s my realistic list. My concern with Sark isn’t primarily the alcohol, it’s that he kind of underachieved as a HC. I guess he was probably drunk the whole time and maybe now he’s ready to break out. I view him slightly better than Mora, which is still way above Chev.

Underachieved? He took over Willingham‘s 0-12 Washington team and turned them into a winner going to 4 straight bowl games and helped propel Jake Locker into a 1st round draft pick. He took over the mess Lane Kiffin left at USC and won 9 games his first year. He was actually a pretty damn good HC.

Man, I am starting to like Sark more and more.

If they could some how poach Walters to come as DC, I think that could be a perfect scenario.

I don't despise the idea of Sark like I did Mel when he got the job, but I do think if we go that way the due diligence must be done on him. He needs to understand that he will be held accountable if he relapses, and he needs to be willing to accept an accountability partner setup like Josh Hamilton had with the Rangers when RG worked for them. That being said, If we can't get EB, I love Blake Anderson (I wanted him here last year). I get him not getting a lot of love here then, but I think he makes a ton of sense right now. Charismatic, high character guy (the latter is critical after Mel and his bull****) who has had Arkansas State in bowls all six years he's been there. He's a guy I'd have no concerns about leaving after a year or two. Learned to really rely on his assistants during his wife's cancer battle. Might be a pretty solid situation for a guy like Chev (OC under an offensive minded HC who has learned to delegate to and trust his assistants). Knows Kap from his stint at North Carolina, so it might increase the chances Kap stays here. Deep Texas connections. His name popped up at Baylor and Missouri, so he's looking to move up. This might be the situation for him.

Even McIntyre managed to win 10 games a couple of times as a HC. He never lived up to his wonder kid expectations.

Take out Walters and add Sark and that’s a good list too. EB is growing on me I guess. Don’t want Chev as the OC. Guess if it’s really EB running it teaching Chev it could be ok. Would love to steal Walters to come home and solidify the D but can’t see him leaving SEC country for anything but HC spot.

Grinch is my top want, but would be dangerous to move on if successful. EB maybe would stay longer because it’s CU.

I think if EB wants it it’s his. I’m just not sure he doesn’t have the same issues about last time that we do.

EB won't take the job. The guy is coaching Mahomes and could get a NFL head coaching job in a year or two.

Tony Alford- depending on the interview
Avalos
Leavitt
Vance Joseph
Willie Taggert

Chev going back to his old role as WR coach/Assistant head coach/recruiting co-coordinator. Bring in new OC and DC.

Jim Mcelwain used CSU to get a good job at Florida. Won't be a bad choice once you overlook the image of him coaching CSU.
