He feels like a developing Karl Anthony-Towns guy, and not a Center, so you are totally correct, gotta get a big bigIf Dak is our plan at C, we are furked in the Big12. There will be multiple teams that have guards that weigh more than he does.
I feel like we may see Fawaz a good deal more than we expect. He'll likely be a limited scoring threat, but he can definitely play D and rebound at this stage. He feels like a developing Karl Anthony-Towns guy, and not a Center, so you are totally correct, gotta get a big big
Really depends on system being made to fit. Looking at the NBA, 2 of the best teams start centers who can't body anyone in the paint (Porzingis and Holmgren). If Dak is our plan at C, we are furked in the Big12. There will be multiple teams that have guards that weigh more than he does.
It is unlikely there will be an effective transition to a new system offensively next year. I'll ask again, is Malone leaving? If Malone is on campus he's probably the starting center, with BD 4 and Rancik at 3.Really depends on system being made to fit. 6'11" / 185 isn't 7'1" / 208 and certainly isn't 7'2" / 240.Really depends on system being made to fit. Looking at the NBA, 2 of the best teams start centers who can't body anyone in the paint (Porzingis and Holmgren).
Dak is not 185.6'11" / 185 isn't 7'1" / 208 and certainly isn't 7'2" / 240.
Correct. Probably 175.Dak is not 185.
Dak is not 185.
Just going by what the interwebz told meCorrect. Probably 175.
Probably telling that both of those teams are stacked with talented perimeter defendersReally depends on system being made to fit. Looking at the NBA, 2 of the best teams start centers who can't body anyone in the paint (Porzingis and Holmgren).
Yep. Systems built around court spacing to take advantage of speed & shooting ability.Probably telling that both of those teams are stacked with talented perimeter defenders

I do think that our starting front court is pretty locked in with Malone (C), Dak (Stretch-4), and Rancik (F) along with Tacko as a backup C.
Barrington at PG. We could use an established 3 & D SG or Wing. Since we lost RJ, we need to sign a sniper from 3, too, even if he is a defensive liability who can come in and launch 3 or 4 in about 10 minutes of court time.
Yes, he stole SHT's spot as the most *comment redacted*Ummmm.... Malone???? Did I miss something?

No, Utah's former #34 could at least move.Huh. I thought that was LL's spot.
That's what I readDid I see on social media that Malone is indeed coming back?
I think Joe Sanders is going to surprise in year one.We may be hoping one of the freshman is that guy.
If Tad plays him.I think Joe Sanders is going to surprise in year one.
Did anyone think Mani was signed to be more than a guy who could be brought in off the bench to do more than go to a spot and potentially give the team a lift by knocking down a couple 3s in limited minutes?![]()
Men’s basketball notes: Tad Boyle trying to fill spots on CU Buffs’ roster, staff
For the first time since the CU basketball program began planning for the expected move to a 15-player roster limit, head coach Tad Boyle hinted the Buffaloes may not remain at 13 scholarships afte…www.dailycamera.com
Sounds like Tad is still open to adding 2 even after the Mani signing. Kind of viewing the Mani signing as an elevated walk on truly. Glad Tad's open to not sticking to 13 for the right kids.
Wouldn't be shocked if Mani and another frosh guard like Johnson redshirted.
Boyle originally said he was only going to bring in 2 --- mayyyyyybe 3 -- transfers. I was afraid that Mani was #2, and that Boyle was done. That was why there was some outcry about adding Mani, I think.Did anyone think Mani was signed to be more than a guy who could be brought in off the bench to do more than go to a spot and potentially give the team a lift by knocking down a couple 3s in limited minutes?
Right. But I think people overreact while coming from a premise assumption that the coach is stupid and/or lazy so they aren't seeing what is obvious to knowledgeable fans.Boyle originally said he was only going to bring in 2 --- mayyyyyybe 3 -- transfers. Glad to hear he's going to bring in 1 and maybe 2 more transfers after Mani.
Isn’t Mani that little fella in Modern Family? Can’t imagine him having a smooth jumperDid anyone think Mani was signed to be more than a guy who could be brought in off the bench to do more than go to a spot and potentially give the team a lift by knocking down a couple 3s in limited minutes?
Is this knowledgeable fan in the room with us now?Right. But I think people overreact while coming from a premise assumption that the coach is stupid and/or lazy so they aren't seeing what is obvious to knowledgeable fans.
Agreed, I will say I’d feel better about next years rotation with a bigger established wing defender that can be rotation player. Ala Fisher. Figured this wasn’t an alternative but nice to see in print. Worried Tad said big but I know he likes playing big.Right. That aligns with what I saw as the primary needs from the portal.Agreed, I will say I’d feel better about next years rotation with a bigger establish wing defender that can be rotation player. Having the rotation below wouldn’t suck at all really just don’t want to make any of the freshman start.
PG: Hargress
Wing: transfer (Fisher)
Big Wing: Sebi
Big: Dak
Big: Malone
With Sanders, Kossaras, Crawford, another frosh guard off the bench.
If we get another big does that mean Kossaras or Sanders starts? That scares me.
