Every recruit going to Oregon knew that Belotti was going to be the AD and Kelly was going to be the coach. If not this year then next. It has been common knowledge up here for quite a while.

Wow. Leeroy. What's your beef with Bellotti. I know the Fiesta Bowl '01 didn't work out that well but I also remember Rick running a fake punt on the dude in the '95 Cotton Bowl in the late third quarter when we were up 35-0. Even the players were raising our eyebrows over the sportsmanship of that one.

I whole heartily disagree that every recruit knew this. The fact is that the official word was very nebulous on the "timeframe". No recruit was told this would happen before they stepped on campus or 1 year later at the latest. NO WAY!
I posted in January in the Diante thread that this would be announced in March....
The timeframe given to recuits was a lie and it was "sometime in the future". That has been documented in interviews several times...

I suspect her push for the program had a lot more to do with proximity and her perception of the school(s) than it did with the head coach. I doubt she's a bit bothered by this.

Location? Eugene is too far to drive to and a pricey flight. A flight to portland and the long drive to Eugene is a push with the longer flight to denver and short drive to Boulder. Costs aren't much different either. Nike cash makes the rain stop.
