Miller moving back to tackle -- and discussion of Givens' situation

I have not read all the treads down below, so if someone else brought it up already, I apologise. Ryans faceboock has 'back to tackle' up on it, so apparently he is moving back from guard.

As of yesterday's depth chart, Miller is still at guard. I'd be interested to know what is up.

I think Givens is going to assume a position that resembles last year. He has had a rough couple games. I would imagine we will see a line that looks like last year - pre injuries. Soldier - Adkins - Illtis - Behrens - Miller

Look for MTM to get in the mix at Guard soon I would imagin.

Givens is very talented but got beat like a drum two straight games. Didn't make his blocks, had some dumb penalties. This move may not be permanent but it makes some sense right now.

Givens has graded out better than Adkins. And tackle is harder to play than guard.

I don't care what the ratings these goofy coaches come up with, I've been watching football for years and I can clearly see that Adkins and Givens have no business right now starting on the OL at this time.. They aren't ready..


I still don't understand how BB lost his OL job.

How's Bahr's health? He wasn't dressed fully in fall practice and I don't believe he's played yet this season.

This is a great move. Miller looked good playing tackle many times last season, and I was surprised they moved him inside so quickly.

Givens didn't play bad enough to get benched. He did have a couple of penalties, including that bull**** holding call on A. Wright's long catch. If Beherns has practiced his way into the starting lineup, I'd think he would replace Atkins, who has graded out lowest of the line. this is a curious change if true.

Givens hasn't been scoring much better then Adkins.

I think it'll help to have someone in there who has a little more experience at OG then Miller or Adkins.

Depends on how you define 'much better'. Givens has allowed 1 sack while playing a tougher position. Adkins has allowed 3. Givens has graded out above 80% in both games this year. Adkins has been below 80% for both games.

Sure, not huge differences, but I think Givens has done enough to stay in the lineup over Adkins. I would think if anyone on the starting OL would get yanked it would be Adkins.

What may have gotten Givens into trouble with this coaching staff is that he plays pissed off and he's lost it a couple times this year.

That is a disipline thing that needs to get corrected soon. If he can't control his emotions any better than that he will continue to cost the team in more ways than one.

There are rumors coming from Rivals that Givens isn't with the team for personal reasons. I just received a text, as did another poster on another board, so since they're texting it out, I don't have a problem reposting it.

Givens also held on a long D. Scott's run. Denver Johnson moved Miller to guard to "toughen up the guard position." Now what's he doing? Toughening up the tackle position? But in fairness, no one is looking that tough.

Isn't Bahr hurt? I actually thought he was going to be the starting right tackle this year..


I was kind of surprised Givens was named the starter since I believe he was only 250 in weight last year..

Yes, God forbid if any or our players actually get pissed or show emotion. I don't want him costing cu penalties but if this staff doesn't like players who play pissed, they should all go coach pee-wee football.

They want players to give the DL flowers before the play...

Except I was wrong. :smile:

I just hope that his personal issue isn't something tragic. Not knowing what's going on, all I'll say is that I wish him the best.
