Ralphie Report: Travis Hunter to all skip workouts at NFL Combine, per sources

The Heisman winner won’t work out in Indy

Travis Hunter’s trip to Indianapolis for the NFL Scouting Combine reportedly just got a lot less stressful.

Denver Broncos beat reporter Chris Tomasson of The Denver Gazette tweeted Thursday morning that NFL officials told him Hunter has opted to skip all workouts during the combine.

Hunter, a two-way superstar at wide receiver and cornerback during his time at Colorado, raised some eyebrows when he declared his position at the combine as only defensive back and not receiver. Now, the Heisman winner will join CU quarterback Shedeur Sanders, who also decided to skip all workouts at Lucas Oil Stadium.

Hunter still held his scheduled media availability before the combine in Indy, where he stated his desire to play on both sides of the ball at the professional level. He would later sit down for an interview with CBS Sports, alluding to the fact that we won’t work out during the combine.

“I’m not doing anything here,” Hunter told CBS Sports. “I’m waiting for my pro day.”

Barring any changes, Hunter will still work out at Colorado’s pro day in March, as well as Big 12 Pro Day from March 18th to 21st.

Three Buffs receivers, LaJohntay Wester, Jimmy Horn Jr. and Will Sheppard, will still work out at the NFL Scouting Combine. Colorado’s three pass catchers will get their chance to wow NFL scouts when it’s their turn to work out on Saturday, March 1st.

Ralphie Report: Travis Hunter and Shedeur Sanders to attend Big 12 Pro Day

Oklahoma State v Colorado

Three Buffs will be in Frisco, Texas for Big 12 Pro Days

Colorado’s Travis Hunter, Shedeur Sanders and Jimmy Horn Jr. are headed to Frisco, Texas from March 18th to 21st to participate in Big 12 Pro Day, the conference announced in a press release Thursday morning.

“Big 12 athletes scheduled to attend this year’s Pro Day include Colorado’s Heisman Trophy winner Travis Hunter and quarterback Shedeur Sanders, the Arizona tandem of Tetairoa McMillan and Jonah Savaiinaea as well as star wideouts including Jimmy Horn Jr. from Colorado and Jack Bech and Savion Williams from TCU among others,” wrote a conference spokesperson in a statement.

Other players of note to attend are Arizona State RB Cam Skattebo, Oklahoma State RB Ollie Gordon, Utah TE Brant Kuithe, West Virginia OL Wyatt Milum and many more.

This will be the second annual Big 12 Pro Day, which started as an idea from conference commissioner Brett Yormark to maximize Big 12 players’ value ahead of the NFL Draft. Same as last year, the event will be held at The Star in Frisco, the practice facility for the Dallas Cowboys.

The event will be televised on NFL Network, so Colorado fans can tune in live as Shedeur and Travis run drills in front of pro scouts ahead of the draft in late April.
