More TE help is coming to Boulder
Even after the closing of the spring transfer portal window, Deion Sanders and the Colorado Buffaloes haven’t stopped recruiting, landing a commitment from three-star tight end Gavin Mueller from the Class of 2026.
Mueller comes from Wheaton, Illinois, and clocks in at 6-foot-5, 255 pounds. The big-bodied TE fielded offers from the likes of LSU, Wisconsin and Cincinnati, but ultimately picked Boulder as the place he’d like to play his college ball.
Ranked as the 21st-best TE recruit in the Class of 2026 by 247’s composite ranking, Mueller’s freak athleticism makes him an exciting addition when he gets to campus next season. Not only does Mueller have an 82-inch wingspan and the athleticism to excel as a receiving tight end, but he also has the frame to hold his own and block up front. After two seasons of little to no TE play in Boulder under Sanders, Mueller’s addition signals that the position may return in a big way in the near future. The only bummer is he can’t get here immediately.
Welcome to Boulder, Gavin!
