2011 Colorado Football Preview

It’s going to take Colorado some time to adjust to these offenses and the harder hitting defenses of the Pac-12. I’m not suggesting that the Pac-12 is the SEC, but the style of defense in the Pac-12 is a lot more physical than Colorado is used to from the Big XII.

This quote was a bit laughable. Big 12 had every bit the hard nosed D that you see in the Pac 12. I don't think there is much of a difference.

Until recently I'd have agreed with you but the proliferation of the spread in the big12 move the focus from physicality top speed. Overall players are smaller and faster than in say the Big-10.

I don't think the style of defense in the Pac is any different than the Big 12 was. CU has needed to de-pussify ever since Hawkins stepped foot on campus.

when you make the claim about "these offenses" (higher scoring, is that the implication in buffedup's quote?).....AND the D's being faster and harder hitting it does seem Pac homerish a bit. either it's a high-scoring finesse league or has greater physicality (as in on the LOS, front 7, physical man D)...both seems a little preferential.

but, less of the Buffs dropping 9 in coverage against the Baylors of the world will be a welcome sight.

The author would have had more credibility to me had he known Forrest West is no longer with the team. He might have mentioned the departure of Itis at center. And he mercifully omitted something...anything...about special teams. The difference between a four win season and bowl eligibility comes down to special teams, IMO.

After 5 years of Hawkins burning the proud history of the Buffs to the ground, I'm hesitant to get overly optimistic about more than a 4-win season until Embree's work product emerges from speculation into reality.

The author may have wanted to have someone edit the ****1ng thing before posting it. Grammatical errors and omissions abound.

Perhaps JRK is one of their members? They're missing important facts as well. See what I did there?

Yes, the only surprising thing in the article was the bio that says he graduated from a 4-year university. Shocking.
