Like the title says we'll use this thread as a catch all for the early games in the tournament, as a quick reminder they are:

12 noon PST - Stanford vs ASU (PAC-12 Network)

2.30pm PST - Mighty Colorado Buffaloes vs OSU beavers (PAC-12 Network) - Game thread here.

6pm PST - USC vs Utah (Pac-12 Network)

8.30pm PST - UW vs WAZZU (Pac-12 Network)

Obviously there are some good story lines here: UW/Wazzu in a post season rivalry game, Smartest kids in the conference vs not so much in an athletic contest, USC can they recover? and of courseDre's back for us.

So was this Bill Frist inspired?

And is it 1/2 hour between games for planning purposes? I remember last year, the games started around midnight here here on the east coast for those "11:30" starts.

The extra half hour allows the teams in the next game to get their warmups in before their official tip time...

10 minutes to go in the and the Smart kids are down 4 to the Dumb kids. Powell is having a huge game for Stanford right now but it is not enough as the Pac-12's most improved player Carrik Felix is putting up a 17 point 10 board effort through the first 30 minutes.

64-60 with six minutes to go, Chasson Randle in foul trouble for the Card with 4pf's

ASU trying to play their way off of the bubble. I don't think we want that to happen. Even though the selection committee says they don't care how many teams any one conference get in, I still think the PAC-12 gets five, and five only.

IF/when ASU wins this and if we lose to OSU again we are NIT bound.

Only way ASU is playing their way off the bubble completely is with an auto-bid. They'd be sweating heavily, even by making the championship game. They'd certainly have a shot, but their RPI is 92 right now...

Frankly, Stanford with their RPI of 66 arguably has a stronger case if they pulled this off and made the championship game

Stanford has no good wins, though. 2-9 vs. the RPI top 50. I think that disqualifies them. Those two wins could even disappear if #47 Cal loses.

Well look at it this way - at least we are not either one of the washington schools. If every game goes into OT today (unlikely, but possible) their start could be delayed by ~45 min +

No bad losses, though. Something ASU does have (DePaul, Utah). And if they made the championship, they'd be picking up big wins

ASU lives to see another day, but anyone who thinks this game alone puts them in the Dance is crazy, IMO. Not even close.
