Why do we like the Georgia AD so much and vice versa? We've played them 6x in the last decade between football/mbb. Is there some connection between the two I'm missing? Don't get me wrong, this isn't a bad thing, I'm just curious.

Some universities just seem to align with scheduling and work well together.

Georgia, for example, is one of the more willing SEC schools to travel to play games outside its immediate region.

I believe that we are still fulfilling part of the agreement (not sure if contractual or gentleman's) that included the FB home and home that brought their FB team to Boulder in 2008.

Did we already play an away hoops game in Athens? The came here last year.

Yes, in 2010 (and 2001 if you want to go back that far, right around the time when they landed on our FB schedule).

So this might be a new contract with the 2013 Boulder game being a fulfillment of the 2010 home/home.

I hope so. I like playing UGA.

I like the Georgia connection....hopefully there will be a chance to play another series with them in football when we get back to that level. Basketball is a good fit for us and I like that we are adding Auburn too

Looking forward to more announcements of games in the next weeks

If we're talking SEC, I'd like to get something going with LSU. You'd think there would be some relationships with Rick George here and Les Miles there.

LSU would be good for FB and BB

Going outside the SEC...with us having future scheduling with Knebraska in the future....has their been discussion for basketball. I know we could see them in the Diamondback Classic....but any hope for a home and home with them?

I'd rather avoid them in hoops. I hate that pack line system they play.

Hate playing at wyoming. Hopefully the MWC RPI is improved. Would love to see a home and home with a big 10 or acc school.

This was a new contract with the 2013 being the first game of the home and home, 2014 in Athens will be the fulfillment.

I'd be ok playing a team OOC that plays the pack line before we play Arizona, never seeing the pack line before playing one of the best defensive teams in the country that plays the pack line can't be a bad thing for CU.

Why is Wyoming not considered road-trip-worthy? Given the limited opportunities from the Boulder area, even I find it exciting.

Because CU has a big target on their back. Wyoming is a very tough place for CU to win at, and the reward is a marginally decent RPI win...at best. I support playing Wyoming each year as we have history, but it's more beneficial for them than us.

Its been awhile since the Buffs have won in Laramie. Season ending injuries have occurred up there to(Nick Mohr ACL). Always a good game to have on the schedule regardless of RPI imo.

Yeah. That's our big historical regional rivalry. I want to keep WYO and CSU on the schedule for hoops as home/home series. Important part of the schedule.

I don't see AFA as an annual thing. I'd like to see that one replaced by New Mexico. Then, we could balance that with a rotation among AFA, DU and UNCO.

That's 4 OOC games a year that would be good for CU basketball as well as college basketball in general in Colorado.

30 games a year.

18 Pac-12

4 Regional

8 Open Dates per year

Of those open dates, maybe the best way to do it would be for CU and UNM to co-host a tournament that plays in Albuquerque & Denver in rotating years to give us both neutral site games with 2 programs that can command interest from good opponents. I'd love to see the Buff-Lobo Christmas Invitational every year. (Hopefully Tad and Rick read my posts. Just to be safe, RumblinBuff needs to blog this idea.)

I would love to see UNM as an annual game. ESPN would probably want it on one of their networks. Just makes too much sense.

so my sister works for CU and she found out that the CU-Auburn game will be part of ESPNs 24 hour tipoff marathon. Game will start at 11pm in Boulder

that's usually a Monday, right? that will be late.

maybe work a double on Monday and take Tuesday off. Not sure I can justify burning a vacation day for a local regular season hoops game.

Mountain Dew and Jolt Cola must be sponsoring
Was looking forward to the game but will probably be passing those tickets on.

Yeah they usually tie it into MNF.

So that's 1 AM EST, yikes, even for me that's pushing it, but I'll watch no doubt.
