How much does airfare normally run?
I went in 2011. It was fantastic. Unless there's a super great deal on airfare, I won't be making the trip this time. I will give the game a thumbs up on atmosphere, tailgating, etc. It's a fun place to watch a football game. The stadium itself is in dire need of renovation, and it's very unlikely that will actually happen. Just the same, it's fun to spend 4-5 days on Oahu, capped off by a football game. Fair warning - the stadium is nowhere near the actual UH campus. It has no college game-day atmosphere at all. The vibe is still pretty cool, regardless. I had some guy feed me shark. I never thought I'd eat shark. It was better than I thought it would be.
I have seen it as low as $400 and much higher from there. September is usually a little cheaper, but prices right now are about $650.
If you can find a cheap flight to San Fran, you can fly out of Oakland airport for under $500
If you can get it for $650 you should be happy, getting it for much lower than that from Denver is pretty rare. I have read that booking your flights on a Sunday (like making the purchase on a Sunday, not departing on a Sunday) is the cheapest day of the week to book them.
For perspective, I got RT tickets to HNL for $387 last time. It's not unheard-of, but it's extremely rare to find RT tickets from DEN to HNL for less than $500.
seriously. anything under 400 is a price I would have thought was insane in 2001.That is insane. If you ever see a ticket for that much you gotta go for it.
Woohoo! I might go
Timmy - you in Hawaii already? Island to island to take in the game.
With attendance of about 20,000 at Aloha stadium, it doesn't take more than 15 minutes to get there from anywhere within 7 miles.
But, nonetheless. Cool.story.bro.
I'm in Honolulu so it is just a two hour trip for me to go the 7 or so miles to the stadium on game day #worsttrafficinthecountry
