Larry Shyatt at Wyoming has stepped down, will be replaced by Allen Edwards who was an assistant

Jamie Dixon has left Pitt for his alma mater, TCU

Johnny Dawkins has been fired by Stanford

Pitt is swinging for the fences.

Whoa is right.
I want to be able to yell at him next year about being overly sweaty and condoning his players punching fans. But also, I want a good coach gone. So many conflicting feelings.

A lot more D1 openings out there.

UNLV looking at Cincy's coach.
USF, Portland, Pacific and Santa Clara from the WCC.

Probably more. That's off memory from reading this site a couple days ago: http://hoopdirt.com/

Looks like Rutgers hired Steve Pikiell (Stony Brook) and that interim UNLV HC Todd Simon took the job at S Utah.

That opens up Stony Brook

Also, didn't the SFA coach take the Okie Lite job?

News reports last night said okie lite had hired Underwood. Much smarter move than calling home a former player turned media celebrity.

AD Holder apparently talked Travis Ford into taking less than the contractual $7 Mil buyout. That might be the only point that okie lite fans are happy with in this whole evolution.

Complaints about how recruiting will go south with the new coach. Complaints about the new hire not being a part of the osu family. Complaints that the incoming coach isn't familiar with the the conference as well as the history of the program.

It has been entertaining.

Too bad UA doesn't come here next year. Pitt may have a tough time....that league is stacked. Sean might try and get his brother that gig. Brad Underwood did take the Okie Lite job-great hire. He built something special at SFA, and they'll get a big time assistant. 59-1 in the southland conference?

I assume fans wanted a high profile assistant or thought they could poach a power school coach instead? OSU has to recruit Texas, same as KSU. Underwood had to recruit under Bob Huggins and Frank Martin. I thought recruiting was all those guys knew how to do with their programs. He knows the Jucos too. What he needs is another Marcus Smart. Travis Ford looked pretty good when he had that kind of player on his squad.

There's a pretty vocal cast that was clamoring for Gottlieb. That could have ended in disaster.

Underwood has been an assistant in the conference and has recruiting ties in texas. Personally, I think it's a good hire.

Only time will tell.

Is that already confirmed? I don't really remember how basketball schedules cycle, I thought only football was planned out several years in advance for conference schedules. Genuinely curious.

Kerry Keating out at Santa Clara. He was a former assistant at UCLA....and one of the top recruiters in the country while he was there. Possible replacement for Rodney?

Yes. We'll make that trip, but not LA. Nothing else changes from this year.

Keating would be a great hire.

I have it on some good authority from a few posters on AllBuffs that Colorado's Tad Boyle should be let go any moment now.

LSU announced that Johnny Jones would return next season.

Why? If you can't win with Ben Simmons, a senior backcourt bolstered by a 5* frosh in Blakeney, and a national Top 50 Zona transfer at PF in Victor... you're never going to win.

There is no excuse for the season LSU had.

You aren't fired at LSU until the Governor fires you. FACT!

played for Cal and KU
started coaching at KU under Roy Williams and followed to UNC

Went 26-7 this year with a loss in the first round of the NIT, was 20-16 last year with a loss in the round of 32 in the NCAA tournament.

Seems like a reach for a position like Stanford.

What to expect from Stanford: Haase's teams play very fast and actually play good defense. Since they're leaking out to run, they are awful on the defensive glass (something's got to give). The good thing for CU fans is that this is the exact sort of system that Tad's schemes are designed to beat (see record against Oregon).
