2024 WBB Recruit Profile Index

Have no idea what kind of league, but here are some individual stats for a team she played with from a season that ended this March - https://hosted.dcd.shared.geniussports.com/SBF/en/competition/30970/team/143854/statistics

Nice find. Appreciate you digging for these recruiting updates.

Another offer reported out to a Swede. (Per other posts from the same twitter acct., she's also been offered by Ohio State, Michigan State and South Florida within the last week.)

Tweet with some one's Swedish player recruit rankings -

The Buffs evidently continuing to recruit Sweden hard. (And, a potential 6'5" GUARD!?!)

Note - per the tweet I already posted above relevant to another athlete (post #5), she is the #1 Swedish ranked player in her class.

Possibly the 1st (at least noted in this thread) 2026 offer;to a 6'3" C/PF from Mansfield, Arkansas -

HS stats (currently only showing her stats as part of freshman team in 2020/21 season.) -

NO IDEA how meaningful the source is, but a webpage that has her listed as Arkansas' top 2026 recruit - https://arkansasyouthsportsassociat...ls-basketball-rankings-post-july-live-period/

Looks like an offer may have gone out to a local (Lafayette's Peak to Peak HS) 2025 6'4" F/C.

Looks like we need 2026 (and 2025) general recruiting threads ASAP, as WBB has evidently already picked up an EARLY home state commit from a 2026 frosh class student-athlete. She is Isabella Shumpert, a 5'9" point/ combo guard who per the link below has Lone Tree, CO as her hometown. She plays club ball with the Colorado Lockdown Elite/ New Mexico Clippers organization.
(For those interested in family sport connections, she is evidently the daughter of longtime MLB player Terry, who also looks to be her club coach.)

Welcome and congrats to her!

Also, a couple tweets from an unofficial visit and offer from last month -

A recruiting page with a few videos - https://sportsrecruits.com/athlete/isabella_shumpert

Edit- one more commitment-related tweet-

Another offer looks to be out to a class of 2026 frosh. She looks to be a 6'1"-6'2" student-athlete.

Article after she (just starting her freshman season) was named her local newspaper's Athlete of the Week after, among other things, earning all-tournament at an elite tournament where she "averaging 23.75 points and 14.5 rebounds through the Monarchs’ four games against powerhouse teams from around the nation."- https://www.smdailyjournal.com/spor...cle_06b6b59c-85c7-11ed-bb21-6fc0b32bc0df.html

Looking WAY into the future, it's possible the Buffs may have just offered this Class of 2027 5'11" PG. (Per her Twitter acct., already has other offers from Arkansas, Wichita State and Abilene Christian.)

Looks like Ms. Chastain has committed to Tennessee. (With her freshman college year still WAY off, assume the coaches for the other schools that offered may not delete her contact info right away.)

Offer looks to have gone out to this 6.0" wing from Boise who Prospects Nation has a 4 star Elite 150 player in her class.

Planning to add a separate thread ASAP for her, but wanted to note quickly here that, per the below, Buffs WBB looks to have picked up a verbal commitment for 2024 from 6'1"-6'2" G/F Grace Oliver, who among other things was named Massachusetts' State Gatorade Player of the Year after this past season.

Welcome and congrats to her!

Wanted to mention (especially for more casual bball recruiting fans) that next Wednesday is the 1st day the frosh*** class of 24/25 can formally sign on to become Buffs.
(***I have no idea of how it works with transfers, but I don't remember hearing of any transfer signing news during early signing days.?.)

Copied from http://www.nationalletter.org/signingDates/index.html, the 2 signing periods for this class are -

"
Sport (s)Initial Signing DateFinal Signing Date
Division I Basketball (Early Period)November 8, 2023November 15, 2023
Division I Basketball (Regular Period)April 17, 2024May 15, 2024
"

(Note - I usually try avoiding double posting, but with this info being obviously equally relevant to MBB and WBB, I plan on posting this in both team's 2024 general recruiting threads.)

The team has already released its article on the 3 incoming Buffs (Betson, Oliver and Lagerlid) signed this morning - https://cubuffs.com/news/2023/11/8/womens-basketball-womens-hoops-lands-three-on-signing-day.aspx

Women's Hoops Lands Three on Signing Day

BOULDER – The No. 20 Colorado Buffaloes took steps to solidify the future, adding three incoming freshmen on Wednesday's National Signing Day.

Head coach JR Payne announced the addition of Tabitha Betson (Melbourne, Australia), Lova Lagerlid (Sigtuna, Sweden), and Grace Oliver (Norwell, Mass.).

"We are incredibly excited to announce our 2024 signing class," head coach JR Payne exclaimed. "Not only are all three of them great basketball players, but they are also tremendous students and great teammates. I expect each of them to have a wonderful impact on our program and Boulder community."

Betson, a 6-2 forward, from Melbourne, Australia, comes to CU as a four-star recruit and is No. 80 on ESPN.com's top 100. Betson will graduate from DME Academy in Daytona Beach, Fla., having earned four letters in basketball. She represented Australia in the U17 World Cup in 2022, playing in 7 games. She also captained the Victorian team in 2021 and 2022. She averaged 9.9 points and 5.6 rebounds per game for Bullen B of the Australia-State League in 2022.

"Tabs is one of the most skilled and well-rounded players we have recruited here at Colorado," Payne stated. "Her basketball IQ is off the charts and will be a perfect fit for our offensive system."

Lagerlid, a 6-0 guard, from Sigtuna, Sweden, currently plays for RIG Luleå in Luleå, Sweden. Lagerlid averaged 13.3 points, 5.5 rebounds and 2.3 assists in the Basketettan Dam season. She has represented Sweden in the 2023 U18 European Championships. Lagerlid averaged 5.1 points, 4.7 rebounds and 1.3 assists in seven games. She has also represented Sweden at the 3x3 level. Lagerlid was one of two players from Sweden selected to participate in the first Women's Basketball Without Borders Global camp organized by the NBA and FIBA in Las Vegas this past July. The camp brought in 38 of the top female prospects from 24 countries to be coached by former WNBA and FIBA players and coaches.

"Lova is the epitome of long, versatile and athletic," Payne added. "She has an incredible motor and will thrive in our up-tempo style of play. Lova brings great international experience that will be a huge asset in adjusting to the college game quickly."

Oliver, a 6-1 wing, from Norwell, Mass., won the Gatorade Player of the Year for the state of Massachusetts for the 2022-23 season. Oliver played three seasons at Norwell High School before transferring to Nobel and Greenough School. She averaged 12 points and 11.5 rebounds as a freshman in 2019-20 and continued to improve her numbers, averaging 20 points and 10 rebounds as a junior. Oliver won consecutive South Show League Sullivan Division MVP awards and hit 1,000 career points. She averaged 13 points and 11 rebounds last season and hit almost 60% from the field while helping Nobels to a 29-3 record and a NEPSAC Class AA championship. ESPN ranks Oliver a four-star recruit and the No. 82 prospect on its top 100 list.

"In our 2024 recruiting class, we wanted to sign a knockdown shooter at the forward position and Grace is exactly that," Payne continued. "She has great size and savvy and her ability to shoot the ball like she does will have her contributing early in her career."

Colorado hosts Le Moyne in its home opener later on Wednesday. The game is set for a 6 p.m. tip and will be streamed online at CUBuffs.com/WatchWBB.

There is a new '24 commit for WBB. Erin Powell, 6' Wing, from England.
