2025 Spring Football

Coach Prime mentioned penalties...with Shilo no longer on the team, that statistic is bound to improve.

Either Salter is still getting used to the altitude or he needs to get in better shape. JuJu looks to be in some decent shape but I'd like to see him put on a little more weight since he could beat Salter out for the QB1 job.

Salter is not in great shape. Period. Evidently, all of the other QBs outlifted him this offseason.

I wouldn’t measure a QBs fitness with anything resembling how much he lifted. Who cares?
Agree except in outlier cases like Jalen Hurts where that power and durability is his main differentiating asset.

I guess I would say that a QB developing lower body strength is important. But just like pitchers, a QB doesn't need to be a weight room monster and it might actually be a problem if he is (flexibility is actually more important).

You may not be the best source for salter news based on past performance

He got in great shape, but it wasn’t strength.

His fitness guru regularly gets destroyed by actual fitness guys
Unless you are a kicker you don't play, and play at a championship level, into your 40s in the NFL if you aren't in great shape and all the time.

Elway spent a lot of time in the weight room and he could lift with a lot of the guys on the team but he said his main focus was on having the core strength that allowed him to keep getting up after getting hit. Even a guy like Joe Montana who was never going to end up shirtless on the cover of a fitness magazine worked hard on being strong, even though he was never muscular.

Prime and much of the rest of the staff have enough experience at the top level of football to know what it takes to survive and thrive in the most physical game in the world.

They will have their guys ready. If they aren't they won't be here.
