if we can build back up the OL pipeline in our region, it will be a big indicator that we are headed the right direction. there are guys with frames and a handful of dudes with big skills ---very cool.
Colorado Prep Lineman have historically been overrated by recruiting services and All Buffs.

OL and TE have probably been the most talented positions in the state.

Rated highest, maybe. Zero ROI in most cases. But that's not saying much. Colorado prep football is the ball sweat drippins' from an overweight O Lineman who's spent the day running chutes at team camp at CSU Pueblo in the middle of July.

Solder, Loadholt, Miller, Rosegarten. Graham, Scaife, Ferguson. I'm sure I'm missing a few more.

Not saying CO produces a lot of talent. Just saying those positions seem to be the best for kids from CO.

Gunnar Helm, Trey McBride (lightly recruited), Joel Dreesen (lightly recruited). Definitely the best positions that CO produces, but many of the highly touted OL end up riding the bench at the bigger programs.

The sad thing is that had they come to CU, they likely would have actually played and gotten a chance to develop, but most of these kids are locked in telling friends and family they are playing in the SEC or B1G

Rosegarten too. Added him after you already quoted me.

Don't forget Dan Skipper who we convinced ourselves wasn't good enough for CU. All he did was be a multi-year starter in the SEC and stuck around in the NFL for 8 years so far.

It is hard to get a sense on big guys in Colorado because while the state has put out some very good linemen it's hard to get a good judgement on them because they rarely line-up against a D1 quality player for the opponents. The kids in Texas, Georgia, Florida, the upper divisions in California you can count of them having 2-4 games per year against somebody who is at least a G5 or higher prospect. Sometimes they have one of those guys on their own team to develop against.

I'm good with CO OL & TE. Also some decent LBs and RBs. I think the really overrated in-state position has been QB.

The reason I listed that makes big guys hard to evaluate applies to other positions as well, level of competition can make guys look better than they are.

That said it seems like more than a few potentially very good Colorado QBs have failed recently not for lack of talent but because they were head cases or character problems.
