Thoughts I have:
1. **** the NCAA selection committee.
2: I like the new staff on practice day.
3. Great day for practice. Spring, blustery, but more or less warm and fun.
4. Good to see some AB there. Nik and BCS will prob add some points of their own.
Damn, what a difference from last few years. Coaches are much more involved and louder. Lots of time spent on special teams. Kicking and long snapping are very iffy right now. Eep.
Embree has lost his voice. 3 practices in . It is gonna be a long spring for him! Lots of tearing into guys for screwing up, but also encouragement and validation when something good happened.
Very intense practice. Swearing, etc. No fights, but a lot of effort and some serious physical play. Great to see. Every single coach was heavily involved when they had the O and D drills going. It was loud.
EB looks like hes been doing this for years. Very composed, no delays, all over his guys when they make a mistake. He has a presence on the field.
Every single play our D would try and rip the ball out, even after the whistle. EB remembers his fumble problems I guess
Post practice, lot of extra work by unit/individuals. punishment was handed out to units, not individuals.
In general, the whole team looks much stronger in the upper body, especially arm wise. Harris is shockingly big. Clemons looks like he could pop apples with his biceps
The QB battle looks to be well in TH hands. He looks damn good. #2 is (for now) Hirschman.
Burnette looked ok, solid backup plan.
Speedy is looking good... Tony Jones looks bad ass. Feeling pretty good about those 2 at RB. Both broke long runs.
Clemons looks good, Prich seems primed to pick up where he left off, and Willjef, tho slowed by injury, was impressive at parts.
Bakhtiari was not bothered on the left side of the line.
Our LB corps looks small except for a few guys (Major, Webb, Rippy). Webb is definitely going to be our starting MLB.
Kasa looks pretty damn quick and does well at DE.
Conrad Obi put in extra work after practice, and looks to be ready to finally contribute close to what we hoped for.
Bonsu is also looking strong.
Lots of two TE sets, both Deehan and Devaugn had some really nice plays.
starting WR corp resembles a mash unit with both willjeff and clemons dinged up. Very very thin at WR.
Espy had a damn good day. I hate saying that. He catches with his hands, and looks good on slant routes.
We like the slant route. A lot.
The routes we ran seemed a lot more cohesive and complimentary now.
Lots of waggle/roll out plays. TH kills it on the run accuracy wise.
Cunningham is very disruptive.
No quentin hildreth sighting. Is he gone? Rumors?
Lots more parents/friends/other family here then past years as far as I remember. Also, saw a recruit drop by and talk to Tui and Kanavis. Don't know who.
I will add more as my foggy brain remembers.
