Gonna be a serious issue the rest of the season imo. Askia is the only one with any confidence from downtown. Xj has dropped nearly 10% from last year and Jhop has regressed to his mean after a somewhat hot start.

The lack of perimeter shooting really hurt tonight. I know Tad wants athletes who can play D, but it's passed time for a kid who can really stretch the floor.

Dustin Thomas hit 48% of his 3's in HS. I was expecting him to fill the 3 void a bit. His free throws have also seemed way off.

This is what I've been saying since about the 3rd or 4th game of the year. I love Tad's emphasis on D, that will bail you out many nights. But a galling lack of outside shooting is something you just can't overcome. It's an integral part of the game. And we're getting very close to last in the conference.

Not athletic enough to create his own shot and his height isnt as much if an advantage as in HS. Most disappointing freshman

This isn't a new issue - CU was averaging 5-17 from 3 going into tonight, tonight CU went 5-17. Last year CU averaged 5-15, the year before 5-15, Tad's first year where he had Levi who could stretch the floor......6-16.

Askia isn't goin 5-5 again. Which also means the rest of the team was 0-12 from 3

It's amazing that people continue to hate on 1 of 2 guys that kept CU in the game. Would have rather not had Booker go 5-5? Should he just not shoot?

Oh I'm not hating... he played great. But I thonk we'll be well below the 5-17 mark which looks better than it should. We can't count on a game like that

It's not new, but it's going to be a bigger issue now that our guard play is...limited. I was ok with not having the outside shooting with our transition game, but now that we're going to see a slower paced, half court offense, that's a big problem.

While true, he hasn't been shooting well when wide open. It's in his head. He may come back to the mean at some point as well, which should be a positive. He's not even hitting FTs.

I think the bigger concern this game is the missed layups....ugh...the only sports forum on AllBuffs I like is getting unbearable to read. Fuuuuck, I'll post a review of the game along with my views for the rest of the season later. Snapshot preview: Pissed about the loss, but saw some things that give me optimism. Not koolaid, you ******s, because I don't play that ****.

Keyword: freshman. This team is now really, really young with Mayor's loss. Temper the expectations as these kids are having to grow up quick.

While Im happy that askia had such a good game and his shots were falling (The dude is a total confidence player. Notice how his first shot rattled around the rim before dropping, and the next ones hit nothing but the bottom of the net), he's not going to shoot 100% from deep every game from here on out.
They need more production out of people not named askia booker or josh scott.
It's a team game, and the other 3 starters and the bench guys need to pull their weight.
