I wanted to compile things here and let everyone know that AllBuffs and some of the other sites with which we are friendly have been working on some things to support the basketball programs.
Let's get organized and start discussing what we can do together and individually to help Tad and Linda build a hoops powerhouse at CU.
The 4-Point Initiative is as follows:
1. Buff Madness
When: Friday, October 12th at 8:30pm
Where: Coors Event Center
What: Scrimmages, contests, giveaways and more
Cost: Free
If you can get there early, there's also a Volleyball game against ASU starting at 7pm.
Beyond showing up and inviting a friend or three to come with you, please also go to the Facebook pages for the Men's and Women's teams and "Like" them.
Men's page: https://www.facebook.com/cubuffsmbb
Women's page: https://www.facebook.com/cubuffswbb
There is more detail and discussion on this topic in 2 active AllBuffs threads:

2) Basketball Excellence Fund
This was a new way to donate that was started in the past year. Unlike general donations to the AD, which are vital, this allows people to target their donations to support specific programs. In the case of men's basketball, money into this fund gives Tad flexibility and resources for where he needs it. This could be compensation for assistant coaches, practice equipment, strength & conditioning equipment, recruiting travel or hosting, scouting, or wherever he sees a need.
If you go to the Donor Net web site, http://www.cubuffs.com/ViewArticle.dbml?&&DB_OEM_ID=600&ATCLID=1613923 , you'll be able to register an account if you don't currently have one. There are numerous opportunities to direct donations to specific initiatives.
Unfortunately, the web site does not include this fund in its Pledge Category drop down menu when you get to the donation page. You're going to have to call them.
You may call in with your donation at 303-492-2200 or 800-621-2833.
As a side note, I was able to confirm that if you call them up they are also set up to take small donations. If you can only give 5 bucks, they can accept that. If you want to donate to either this fund or others through a manageable recurring donation, they can make that happen. For example, maybe you can't swing $120 in one shot but would be comfortable with your credit card being hit for $10 every month for the year. They can make that happen.
3) Attendance at the Home Opener
When: Friday, November 9th @ 5:00 pm
Where: Coors Event Center
Who: Wofford College (not a patsy - they've averaged 22 wins over the past 3 seasons)
This is a challenging start time for a game. People have work obligations that make this difficult, especially if you're coming a distance.
If you can possibly make it, it's vital that we show up for this one and tip off the season right.
If there are people you know who might be interested in going to the game, make sure you get the word out. Single game tickets are an incredible value and it's going to be a fun night as we start the new year for our defending Pac-12 Champion team.
Last, if you can't use your tickets please make sure to post here and whatever other message boards you frequent so that we can do all we can to make sure they are used by Buff fans and we pack the Keg that night.
4) Season Ticket Drive
For the women's program, there are a lot of passionate fans that formed a solid season ticket base during the Ceal Barry era. Many left in protest under Kathy McConnell-Miller. With Barry protege Linda Lappe entering her 3rd year and showing both on-court and recruiting success, it's past time to get the word out to the fans we've lost and the other fans who don't have tickets.
The web site for new season ticket deposits for WBB doesn't seem to be up yet, but here it is: http://ev12.evenue.net/cgi-bin/ncom...kID=colorado&shopperContext=&caller=&appCode=
For the men's program, the season ticket base has expanded to the point where it's getting hard to get seats to games. Without season tickets, individual game tickets can be hard to come by or are selling for inflated prices on the secondary markets. If you or someone you know has been sitting on the fence, the time is now to lock in your seats before you miss the opportunity. Further, we want to make damn sure that our home advantage is locked in this season and there isn't the opportunity for KU fans to buy up our season tickets next year so they can have seats and take over the arena next season for the one game they'll go to against the Jayhawks. Back-to-back 24-win seasons, Pac-12 Champions, an NCAA Tournament win, and a chance to see 6 new freshmen from a Top 25 recruiting class. This is now one of the top rising programs in the nation and we need to do our part to take it to the next level.
You can put in your season ticket deposits and get on the wait list here: http://ev12.evenue.net/cgi-bin/ncom...kID=colorado&shopperContext=&caller=&appCode=
People can also call for either program: 303-492-8337
If someone isn't ready to buy season tickets, make the effort to extend invites to single games. CU Basketball, whether season tickets or individual games is the best bang-for-your buck sports entertainment value on the front range. Let's create the best home court advantage in the West.

I just donated to the Basketball Excellence Fund.
I will definitely be at Buff Madness.
I'm in for the Wofford game (expecting to make it a +2)
I am not a WBB season ticket holder, but I want to pick a few games this year to hit with some of you guys
